I'm Not Truly Well Off Compared With Wealthiest Americans-says Hillary Clinton
Daily Mail UK ^ | 06/23/2014 | Ashley Collman and Francesca Chambers

'We came out of the White House not only dead broke, but in debt,' Clinton said. 'We had no money when we got there, and we struggled to, you know, piece together the resources for mortgages, for houses, for Chelsea's education.'

'You know, it was not easy.'

Hillary was swiftly attacked as 'out of touch' after the comment.

The Clintons have made an estimated $155 million since leaving the White House in 2001, according to financial disclosure statements, which makes them the wealthiest former first family in America.

Likewise, George W. Bush's estimated net worth is less than half of Bill Clinton's. In 2012 he was valued at $20 million after having made $7 million off his 2010 book Decision Points and $15 million in speeches.

His father, former president George H.W. Bush has a net worth of $23 million, but much of that comes from the value of his home and a 100+ acre estate he owns in Maine. In his hey day, H.W. Bush would charge anywhere from $60,000 - $80,000.

They don’t see me as part of the problem because we pay ordinary income tax, unlike a lot of people who are truly well off - not to name names,’ Clinton said.

‘And we’ve done it through dint of hard work.’

America Rising PAC Executive Director Tim Miller mocked Clinton’s statement in an email to reporters over the weekend.

‘If Hillary is going to run for President she might be advised to take a lengthy sabbatical from her $200k per pop speaking tour and private shopping sprees at Bergdorfs to try and reconnect with what’s happening back here on Earth,’ the GOP operative said.

I wonder if the names she’s not willing to voice could have something to do with Heinz Ketchup?

I think she never “Un-decided” whether or not to run for president. All she’s wanted since being 1st lady. It scares me because if the bumbling fool we have in the White House now could get elected...I believe she will win if she runs. You know how it is. The small minded who will vote for her just to say they cast a vote for the first woman president. (argh)

Poor gal...she'll have to make do with a Mercedes “S” Class rather than a Maybach.

‘I’m Not Truly Well Off Compared With Wealthiest Americans-says Hillary Clinton.’

Hillary can ‘feel our pain’ because she has experience on being bottom man on the elitist totem pole.

For such an educated, travelled person, who gets money to give speeches, she has the annoying habit of abusing the “you know” filler wayyyyyy too much. She sounds worse than a 14 year old girl when she speaks.

I've seen reports suggesting that some Americans are forced to get by on even less that $10 million a year. Can't even *begin* to understand how they do it.

Yes, if PRODUCTIVE citizens somehow accumulate more wealth than political hacks, what does this say about our society?

A good rallying point for Progressives...

Ironic that this Leftist’s sense of wealth concerns money.

I think the old hildabeast is inferring she and Bill and Chelsea “worked” for their money, unlike Romney

or maybe she is referring to the Kennedys?

ooops

let’s compare jobs their wealth has created, and charitable donations ....

She honestly believes this. That she is not truly well off. Her ideological blinders require her to believe that she is not the 1% or one of the greedy rich who are living off the backs of the working poor. She honestly does not understand that she was wealthy when she left the White House. She has no concept of what it means to be working class, or that there is not some magical class of people out there that constitutes the true “rich.”

So many Libs think this way. They are “for the poor” and against those “rich” who aren’t paying their fair share. Its the Holy Grail of Liberalism to find these “rich” and make them pay for all kinds of social spending. The reality is that there are no “rich,” or if there are, they are Hillary. She just needs to look in the mirror to see the problem she is fighting against.

Not well off? What about the big advance you got for your new book and the six-figure speaking fees?

I doubt rather seriously that she ever thinks about spiritual treasure.

Not yet anyway, right Hillary? A little stint in the White Hut could fix that, right?
