It seems like it would be pretty easy to fly another plane through a contrail, take samples and find its chemical makeup. Or would facts just screw up the conspiracy theory?
There have been extensive studies done. At most they found the particulate matter you would expect to find in burned jet fuel.
Someone did.
But the results disappeared mysteriously. All evidence that the test took place vanished.
