Report: US, UK Knew About ISIS Takeover Months in Advance
Arutz Sheva ^ | 6/23/2014 | Tova Dvorin

Kurdish authorities tell news outlet that they passed along intelligence about the ISIS plans months ago to US, UK - who then did nothing.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant's (ISIS) takeover of Iraq earlier this month took the world by storm, as the successive fall of several major cities in the Sunni-dominated northwest left Iraqis fleeing and world leaders shaken.

But what if the blitz military conquest could have been prevented altogether?

Kurdish intelligence reported news of a strategic alliance and pact between Islamist groups to topple Mosul and other major Iraqi cities with ISIS's help as far back as January, the Telegraph reported late Sunday.

Shortly after the fall of Fallujah to ISIS, an informant reportedly stepped into a Kurdish intelligence office to reveal the news that ISIS officials had networked with remnants of Saddam Hussein's regime and former Hussein deputy Izzat al-Douri to plan a large-scale invasion.

But while Kurdish handlers ran immediately to the US and Britain with the information, the West allegedly sat back and did nothing.

"We had this information then, and we passed it on to your (British) government and the US government," Rooz Bahjat, a senior lieutenant to Lahur Talabani, head of Kurdish intelligence, told the Telegraph. "We used our official liaisons."

"We knew exactly what strategy they were going to use, we knew the military planners," he added. "It fell on deaf ears."

Regardless of which party is in power, we've all been told that our politicians are our betters. They know what is best for us and the rest of the world. If they need to keep things from us, then it's probably best that we don't try and find out.

Bad Kurds! They should have kept their stinkin' mouths shut.

Now the US and UK won't be able to execute their "double secret" plan to do whatever the heck they were gonna do for our betterment and the betterment of all mankind.

Curses!

Key takeaway from the article:

“I have completely lost hope in America after listening to President Barack Obama,” (Chief of Kurdish Intelligence) Talabani said. “I blame him personally for what has happened in Syria, in the Middle East, in Iraq at the moment.” “I have no hope any more.”

Fallujah fell in January.

Obama should have had intel beefed up and a plan in place immediately to prevent further spread.

He is DERELICT.

If true, same old, same old...

The INTEL is out there but was not funneled up? Shades of 9/11.

Why does Hollywood always show US INTEL organizations doing their jobs perfectly? These organizations and their personnel are good looking and flawless.

The reality is different.

Each day that passes shows the level of ineptitude of this administration.
We are rapidly approaching a narrow window of opportunity where the only option left will be to fly over 30 B-52s a drop enough massive ordnance on them that they will be completely halted. On the other hand, we are talking about President Obama who can't be seen using force because it is against his mindset and his Nobel Peace prize.
Therefore, Baghdad will fall because Obama will twiddle his thumbs.
What Malaki needs now are B-52s and not lectures and platitudes from John Kerry.

Wow. Boy King is making a mess of the world not just US. I feel sorry for our allies. I’m embarrassed to be an American. I feel this quote should be a headline in the MSM. Rub it into the faces of the low-info ignoramuses who voted this dude in not once but twice.

The key to fixing the current Iraq crisis is Maliki getting good sense, or getting a replacement with good sense who can unite Sunni and Shia to kick out ISIS. So was this an intelligence neglect, or an opportunity to apply shock therapy by doing nothing. Time may tell.

And Ambassador Stevens tried to warn them that the situation in Benghazi needed more security.

And the Russians tried to warn them about a couple of US kids traveling to Checnya.

And an FBI agent tried to warn them about Muslims wanting to learn to fly, but not land.

Etc. Etc.

The US government could care less.

Just a huge example of why young morons should not be allowed to vote...maybe raise the minimum voting age to 50 in hopes that they might grow up by then....we have a daughter 42 and one 44 and neither is capable of voting for anything meaningful to the future of our country despite our efforts to correct their idiotic thinking........

Morning Gleeaikin. My thoughts might be unpopular with some but I do not see this as an intelligence failure. The Kurds are to be commended (imho) for coming forward with the information. D.C., particularly obama, is on the side of isis. Great Britain is well aware of this fact. Great Britain is treading cautiously and whom can blame them. Our ‘death wish’ media is thinking they have an out but they are extremely vulnerable for having trusted obama. skerry told Maliki to pack up, move his billions and give a cut to skerry and obama. It is all about money at this point and whom has it. The doing nothing should have shocked nobody for that is what obama does best. moslem factions becoming as one and working together should be the world’s greatest fear.

All according to plan. Arming terrorists in Syria thru Libya... Leaving military assets to same to be used in planned takeover of Iraq... What is next? Obama and Jarrett know...they are part and parcel in the planning.... They are complicit.. The bumbling stumble bum act is a fiction.

I hear you...it’s even harder to digest when it’s our own kids that won’t see reason. Speaking of family, my folks have always been active in the church and a couple years ago they befriended a new couple...both in their 60’s...that actually campaigned for Mr. Obama. I explained to my folks his stance on abortion, gays, former church affiliation, some anti-biblical remarks he’d made, etc. (they don’t have cable or internet) and wondered aloud why any Christian would be pro-Obama. The woman was very rude to me when we first met....the reason why is just dawning on me after writing this! Mom must have been concerned and told them what I said and she did NOT like it.

Sure they did.

The UK and USA didn’t want that data out on their Sunni buddies.

They wanted their Sunni Buddies to dispose of the Syria leaders with military help from both countries.

Many of the weapons the ISIS serial killers have came from Libia aka Benghazi and indirect sources from both sides.

The only who probably didn’t know the dangers of ISIS was McAinal when he gladly posed with some ISIS serial killers and called them, the good guys. He was and is too dumb to realize he was a PR tool for ISIS.

"That’s Barry’s team (Sunnis) why would he want to stop them?"

Isn't it amazing how so many other wise intelligent people and Freepers refuse to realize what you posted. The ISIS serial killers are Barry's Team (Sunnis). He supported them in Syria and is supporting them now.

Thanks to Fitzy_888, below is short history lesson about the hatred the Sunnis have for other Muslims and in particuliar Shites:

Bad Blood and the feudal history between the two insane muslim groups prevent any real peace until all are wiped off this earth.

Why the Sunnis and Shites hate and kill each other, courtesy of Fitzy_888 :

This blood feud dates from the beginning of Islam, a tribe that would later be Sunni’s from Syria beheaded Mohammed’s grandson (the Mohammed) and brought his head to Damascus as a trophy. Sunni’s broke the blood line of the prophet, this is why zealous Shiites will kill Syrian Sunni’s with zeal. It dates back to the four caliph, under the fourth successor to Mohammed, Mohammed’s cousin...also his son-in-law. Mohammed’s cousin married Mohammed’s daughter Fatima, their son and heir to the Islamic caliphate was killed by a tribe from present day Syria who would later identify as Sunni.

Iran having a Shiite majority already has military forces fighting ISIS (Sunni in Syria along side their proxy, Hezbollah.

All eyes have been on ISIS as the jihadist group, in a matter of days, cut Iraq in half and declared its own state in the cities it captured. With fewer than 10,000 fighters ISIS forced the retreat of the better-armed Iraqi army forces many times its size. Their incredible success on the battlefield has fed into a growing lore about the group: the small band of fanatics that can take down a country. The truth is more basic and it's something ISIS doesn't want to admit--they weren't acting alone. It wasn't having God on their side that let ISIS conquer Mosul and Tikrit with hardly a fight, analysts say. It was the other Sunni insurgent groups that were there alongside them, unacknowledged partners in the coalition. Those groups have deep organizational roots and were instrumental in the takeover but have been largely overshadowed by ISIS.

The standoff in Iraq isn't between a single militant group and the government. There is a broad coalition of Sunni groups--both nationalist and Islamist--who had been plotting against Iraq's Shia government for years before ISIS's rise provided the chance to strike. ISIS and its partners are unnatural allies. Maintaining their unity was the key to their early success, and is the only way they can hold the ground they have taken, but that incentive may prove to be weaker than the force of their natural hostilities.

"ISIS control in Mosul is contingent on political alliances they have made with the Baathists and the tribal groups," said Brian Fishman, a fellow at the New America Foundation, who has been following ISIS since the group's early days during the Iraq war.

It’s not that they could care less. I am really surprised by many comments on the thread - incompetent, clueless, etc.

It’s much worse.

The WH is occupied by a foreign enemy combatant whose handlers are communists and Moslems, and the gov is larded with MB and assorted Moslems. Our gov SIDES with ISIS. On purpose, by design, etc. It is not mere incompetence at all.

Under Bush, it was the corruption created under Clinton that prevented the info from getting to where it should have. And Bush was also hampered by $ from Saudi, the entire relationship with S.A. At least he made a bit of a try, although not what should have been done. Now, the entire administration is pro-Moslem or actively Moslem. A considerable difference.

Not much danger of the Muslim varieties getting together. They are fighting the way Christians did 300 or 400 years ago.
