As someone who did 24 years of active duty, I agree wholeheartedly with you. The bigger problem is what happens to our retired after they leave. They tend to be lost and depressed due to the structure and being told what to do for so long. It is pretty sad. So many didn’t have a life whatsoever outside the military and were not equipped at all with the civilian world.
