The committee had last week requested White House attorney Jennifer OConnor appear at Tuesdays hearing. After the Obama administration objected, the committee announced Monday that it was subpoenaing her.
The White House subsequently dropped its objection and will allow her to appear, the Wall Street Journal reported. White House counsel Neil Eggleton said in a letter to to the committee that OConnor will be pleased to attend the hearing.
Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said he was sorry it reached the point of a subpoena.
A year ago, when news broke that the IRS had targeted Americans because of their political beliefs, President Obama pledged, we will work with Congress as it performs its oversight role. Issa said in a statement before the White House relented.

Issa hearings are like stacking BBs. A lot of time wasted to accomplish nothing.
BUMP!
____________
Issa , Mike Rogers and Boehner all talk the talk, but refuse to walk the walk, they are not good for America.
They all whine and moan about being stonewalled by the Commie Obama Administration, but NOTHING effective happens, except for the formation of the Benghazi Committee under Trey Gowdy.
The House RINOs had their chance for OVER FOUR YEARS and have done NOTHING, proving that they are not good for America, PERIOD!
It is time to mow down the not good in the House, ASAP!
Something tells me this lawyer won’t be of the ‘John Dean’ variety.
He's sorry!??!
The White House doesn't care if they guy testifies. He is going to lie his butt off and get away with it. Issa and the rest of the GOP aren't going to do a damn thing about.
Dean's weakness was he had a conscience. Nowadays, you are not allowed to advance in the Democratic party unless you can lie without shame, and have demonstrated that you can do so.
Keep the parade of witnesses coming. Sooner or later the truth will emerge and these criminals will pay dearly.
Just let Gowdy ask all the questions.
No kidding, sorry?
Issa had better wise up and drop all the niceties and go for their throats. The dims are playing for keeps here and if they are not stopped and slammed down, Issa will be the one who ends up in prison for some trumped up charge.
John Deans weakness was that he did not want to go to prison! He went to Sam Dashs house at night, told him he would spill the beans, everything,on one condition, keep me out of prison, that was his conscience
Yeh what difference does it make? Unless the entire GOP is willing to stand up and demand that Obama resign or face impeachment things will roll along unchanged.
I would expect that taking the fifth and client-attorney privilege will be his/her mantra.
I agree but others would have to yield there five minuets of time, and I strongly suspect that for the most part, what they really care about is getting face time.
