Thad Stopped being a senator for Mississippi and became a Senator for the District of Colombia a very long time ago....
Huge win for the Tea Party and a bit loss of the GOPe if McDaniel manages to defeat him. On the heels of Cantor’s upset, this could be a game changer in Washington, DC.
Typo in my post: Make that “big loss”.
I admit that I've heard a lot of very good reasons for voting for McDaniel but ending gridlock has never been one of them.
Lord, I hope so. Then maybe we can steer America back to a republic instead of a facist moving country. But, along the way we have to deprogram half of America. Hard to do considering who you have to deal with but, doable.
Not only that, but there are several other primaries to come, like TN.
It is very possible that Cantors loss and a McDaniel win could start a chain
reaction for the remaining primaries.
There are no “game changers”. If McDaniel wins (and I certainly hope he does), it is just one more step forward in a very long march towards restoring America.
Cochran doesn’t even live in Mississippi anymore. He rents a room of one of his aides.
“”I’ve known Thad all of my political life. He’s done more for Mississippi than most can conceive, ...”
Yeah, that’s the problem. Thad has been “bringing home the bacon” for MS all those years. Getting more than Mississippi’s “fair share” of federal funds. When you look at a chart showing what states pay and what they get back, Mississippi is at a the bottom of the per capita contributions, but at the very top on per capita receipts. Everyone pi$$es and moans about California, but we only get something on the order of 40% of our tax money paid to Washington back. Essentially, we are propping up states like Mississippi. Guess we are “helping” Mississippi eradicate outhouses and double wides. I had a friend from New Jersey who bought a 40 acre farm on a lake with two houses in Horn Lake, MS. Total property taxes were $250.00 per year.
This is what libs put out right before they lose elections. That way they can work with their news outlets to insist Republicans "reach across the aisle". Fact is, we're not sick of gridlock, conservatives love gridlock, that much less mischief for the Congressional thieves.
I don’t understand why the party didn’t just coalesce around the primary winner /sarc
Yeah, if there was a hall filled with one thousand grassroot GOP supporters, the word “gridlock” would likely not be uttered once. Bob
There are no game changers.

Cantor’s defeat is already having an impact. He had to resign from his leadership position. And if McDaniel wins, the Tea Party reps in congress will be further strengthened and emboldened. We may disagree about “game changers” but IMO a McDaniel victory would send a very powerful message to intrenched GOPe interests. Trust me, they are afraid these victories will lead to a critical mass that shifts the balance of power within the GOP.
The Tea Party is America’s best hope to reform the country and redirect a party that in its present state only pretends to represent conservative interests.
They all do. You send a decent conservative to DC and they are going to become a “moderate” (a polite way of saying “libtard lite”) by the time their first term is done. One really good reason why you need term limits, a repeal of the 17th amendment and the provision for recall by a 2/3rd majority of the state legislature that sent him or a simple majority of the eligible voters in the state.
It’s important to point that hypocrisy out. Thanks for doing that. If McDaniel wins, watch for the GOP to scuttle him like they did Cuccinelli.
Read John Boehner's web page. If he were actually following what he still publishes, we be in good shape.

Well, that is certainly putting a sugar coating on a turd.
He SHACKS UP with one of his aides.
Ending Gridlock: When all Republicans agree with the Democrat position on an issue.
It's not that hard to turn a GOP Freshman to the dark side. The allure of the fancy cocktail circuits, the plum assignments, the lobbyists promising this and that pork spending for your district, and the corrupt GOPe putting their shoulders around you, "helping" you to "make the right choices", issuing threats if you make "the wrong choices", plus the opportunities to make lots and lots of money yourself!
Before long, you've become a loyal foot soldier for the statist cause, and your constituents are no longer the people in flyover country, they're the ones pulling the purse strings.
