On what basis? That the man he defeated is butt hurt and mad that he didn’t think of reaching out to anyone eligible to vote in the runoff. Cochran courting Democrats by emphasizing his record is smart politics. Voter turnout for the runoff was up 57,000 from the primary. When was the last time you heard of any election in which more voters turned out for a runoff than for the primary. Cochran’s camp sought out every vote that was available. Mississippi is nearly 40 percent African-American. They can put you in office or they can keep you out. Frankly, I’ve never understood why anyone in Mississippi would vote against Cochran. If the Republicans retake the senate, he will be the chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee. Voters in the other 49 states would give their left nut to have one of their senators in the same position.

Half the voters, maybe -- the government livestock portion of the electorate. But of the taxpaying voters, a whole lot less than half -- probably below 25%. Those would be the working, non-government-dependent sort.

I voted against Cochran because he isn’t conservative. I voted against him because of his big spending. We don’t need any more federal money in Mississippi. Government money is the sugar tit that keeps poor blacks subjugated. I voted against him because he’s an immoral man openly dishonoring his sick wife. I voted against Cochran because he has done NOTHING to take the fight to the Obama Administration or liberals generally.

For people who hold to conservative principles, the list of reasons to oppose Thad is very long.

I suppose if a person is motivated by favoring a politician who “brings home the bacon”, even though 40% of the cost of the bacon has to be borrowed from China (and the rest of the cost has to be confiscated from American taxpayers), and that person is not concerned with a $17 trillion deficit, then by all means Cochran might be your guy.

And that is the definition of Bipartisanship. Bringing home pork to your state and saddling the debt on others.

Even Bill Clinton never appeared in public with any ‘date’ other than his wife.

Much less lived with her openly.
