If it is true that we will slip this attempted death blow, we probably have Dave Brat, and the voters of the 7th in Virginia to thank, for replacing Eric Cantor.

Like any real conservative, he is going to need grassroots support, because the RNC will probably be missing in action for him in the general. Weneed him and those like him.

Gowdy, Goodlatte, Labrador, Ted Poe and others were ready to grant amnesty to the dreamers.

King got under Messiah Gowdy’s skin.

In response to King’s comments, Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., said “reprehensible” and “Did you hear his five minutes?” Gowdy asked a scrum of reporters about King’s statement. ”He took one line from my opening statement about a remedy that lasts a lifetime and lectures me about the rule of law. I was a prosecutor for 15 years.”

“When children eat a grape at the grocery store or eat a piece of candy waiting in line before mom or dad pays for it we don’t have them arrested for petty larceny,” he added.

The most important thing that happened was the shutdown which pushed amnesty into the next year when the truth of the dreamer surge became known. We have Steve King, Lou Barletta, Kerry Bentivolio, Dana Rohrabacher, Steve Stockman, Gohmert, Bachmann and Mo Brooks.

Ingraham protecting Walter Jones was the best thing she did in the primaries. If Walter Jones lost the entire NC delegation was open to immigration reform.

I haven’t got the full list but Steve King said he had 20 to 70 in his coalition.

The other side had 20 who were committed. Then there is 150 who are undecided and don’t feel strongly about immigration.
