Slugfest between street fighter Tancredo and Hickenlooper

But the D's wanted Tancredo, which tells me a slugfest would not necessarily have occured. Beauprez has a shot, if he plays it right.

“It was, actually. (D) or (R), we’re headed to the same destination.”

Wrong and delusional. I’m voting Republican both in the mid-term and in the next general election because I am not self destructive, and I don’t want to bring this country down any more than Obama has done so already. For all its faults, the Pub Party is still the only one for this moment in history, as there is no viable 3rd party that could win, and there isn’t enough time to start another one before our country would already be ruined by the socialist fascist Party now in control.

You can live in la la land, like the irrational and illogical leftists that are now in power, or you can live in reality and deal with the political landscape as it actually is. I refuse to be nutz like the liberals are.

I’m totally wary of 3rd parties, as there are a bunch of them already, and none of them ever seem to make up a large enough majority to win an election. How would starting up yet another 3rd party (actually it would be more like a 7th or 8th or more party) solve anything?

It too would undoubtedly not attract enough people to actually win an election, and it wouldn’t be long before the new party would start the infighting and political bickering that would splinter it into ever more parties. That has already been happening to some extent with the larger national groups of the Tea Party.

An analogy would be Christian religions. After the reformation, new religious sects sprouted up like dandelions on a front lawn in summer. As Martin Luther himself said on his deathbed (paraphrasing) even a Milk Maid could now start up a new religion.

If a 3rd party is wanted, pick from one that already exists, but few will as everyone wants a party that thinks exactly as they do. Work with the one that exists (Pubs) and change from within, which is what most of the Tea Party is trying to do anyway. That is the method that gets my Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. We have run out of time to do anything else without running the risk of our country already being too far gone if the liberal socialists remain in power.

Ruined? Or brought to a point where we can REALLY fight back, and re-establish TRUE CONSERVATISM? The GOP had a MAJOR opportunity with a GOP controlled House, Senate and WH from 2000-2006. They did NOTHING with it, other than give us the Patriot Act, which is currently being used against us real Americans, not terrorist. No thanks. Your continued support of the GOP is the same as support for the Dems.

Beauprez should also keep pushing his intent to get rid of the three antigun laws rammed through last year.

Also the fact that he lied to those sheriffs this month.
(Isn’t that a crime?)

2006 was a tough year for Republicans across the board. And Beauprez ran a terrible campaign. I think he's learned from that.

It will be a tough race, but with Hickenlooper joining with his hard left wing on gun control and capital punishment plus his lying gaffe to the sheriffs, it is winnable.

Exactly.

Unfortunately, the realities of the whole process are that if you don't vote for the “lite” guy you get the full bodied, very bad version.

Bottom line question: who would we rather have in office, Obama or Romney? And “neither” is not an option in the real world. Because there were really only two candidates who had a chance at winning and “neither” wasn't one of them.

I was partial to Santorum, myself, but since Romney was the GOPe candidate, I'd say Obama. The reason is that, with Romney, we would have headed in generally the same direction, despite the fact that us true Conservatives wanted another. Again, Romney was Obamalite, and I personally think it's better to rip the bandage off fast than to take it slow while having a knife plunged into your back. My personal opinion. With Obama in office, we've reached the precipice much fast, I knew what was coming, I didn't have to worry about being backstabbed by my own "allies" and I've been very serious about preparing for the inevitable end, regardless of GOPe or Dim. Once again, I say, bring it on! Let's roll! It's gonna hurt, and folks like us are going to be forced to struggle, but I think, in the end, the American spirit and will of the TRUE AMERICANS will prevail. Hopefully then we will be able to get back to that COnstitutional Republic the founders gave us, "if we could keep it"

Exactly! If Beauprez runs on this issue alone, he's got one heckuva good shot. The sad state of affairs, jobloss from these, and other bills...Beauprez has a chance. A good one at that. I can vote for him adnd still hold my head high, and that's not something I take lightly. I'm pretty darned hard headed about who I vote for, and why.

Good points.

There is always a third option... down the road.

The good news is that Obama and the Dems have been shut down since the Republicans won the House. Otherwise, your preference for Obama being POTUS would have been A LOT worse. We probably have cap and trade, carbon tax and lots of other taxes, amnesty for illegals, etc.. And massive tax to cover a bail out for the floundering Obamacare.

I try to call every person that I’m interested in voting for and ask them neutral questions. Things like, “What is your stance on guns?,” instead of a leading, “What is your stance on the second amendment?”

I still plan to distribute my list as much as I’m able. The names of every elected bum who ignored us gun owners in the last 2 years.

Would you like me to send you the list of names when I get home from work in about 90 minutes?

Beauprez was my rep before we got stuck with Ed Boybutter (that helped seal us moving the hell out of metro). He was a pretty decent guy, but getting Myth to endorse him was a negative to me. I'll vote for him so long as he doesn't get someone like Jane Norton as a running mate.

Ryan Call is gonna get an ear full!

“Your continued support of the GOP is the same as support for the Dems.”

You are the real Dem because your “way” will keep them in power ad nauseum. And I will despise your ilk for it. I want the Dems out of power. You want them in power for years to come and thus cause the ruination of our great nation. There won’t be a recognizable USA after those that think like you get done with it.

There is no third way. Hillary believes in a third way, or so she claims, but she is really a fascist socialist. Mussolini believed in it and came up with the actual concept of the third way. He was hung. Go to any country with multiple “third” parties and you will see a country in constant turmoil, and invariably heavily socialistic while having to form unholy alliances with one another in order to form a working gov’t, which ends up seldom working.

For all its sins our two party system is still the best around, and we have the opportunity to reshape our parties during the primaries. Be careful what you wish for, because you could further destroy our country with your alleged “cure”.

You obviously don't know Tancredo. It would have been a glorious, bloody, no holds barred, street fight.

Beauprez does have a shot, just as much as McCain did in 2008. And he's as much a fighter as McCain.

We are left with choosing whose place settings at the dining table in the governors mansion we like better.

That same thing happened in CA. The undecideds went with the person running 2nd.
