Just wait until they go the way of Seatak, WA. Everyone that got an increase in wages, lost benefits like free food, parking, healthcare and more. They’re “sucking sea weed” as my Mother in law would say.

Fools have no clue what they’ve done. Or maybe they do and they’re out to destroy the economy and the nation.

$1.40 in 1967 has the same purchasing power as $10.06366 in 2014.
The total inflation rate from 1967 to 2014 is 618.83291%.
The average inflation rate from 1967 to 2014 is 4.28603%

$1.60 in 1968 has the same purchasing power as $11.19024 in 2014.
The total inflation rate from 1968 to 2014 is 599.38987%.
The average inflation rate from 1968 to 2014 is 4.31901%.

I got the wage levels here: http://www.dol.gov/whd/minwage/chart.htm
and ran them through an inflation calculator here:

10.00/hr minimum wage is not out of line even for a cheap a$$ conservative like me.

But the point is there should be no government legislated minimum wage .

If you’re a Conservative, you should support abolishing the Minimum Wage.

It is an arbitrary amount, as your Post indicates BTW, that forces Business Owners to maintain Productivity not by Hiring People but seeking ways to absorb added costs to remain profitable.

If you price yourself out of the Market, you lose, your Employee’s lose and your Competitor’s win.

It isn’t the Government’s business what a Private Business Owner and the Individual he hires agree on for compensation.
At least it shouldn’t be, but that Freedom thing is hard to hold onto nowadays.

Woe to the Amish, making 8$ an hour, replaced by a college grad who can’t find other work, willing to work for 11$ and benny’s ... or the robot willing to do the job American’s don’t want to do.

Woe to me, who will pay for the Quaker’s food stamps and sex change operation.

Woe to the Republican who seeks re-election in MA, when the Puritan votes 3 times, plus once for himself, herself or she-him-self.
