When I learned of the deceitful campaign tactics used in securing Thad Cochran’s victory over Tea Party candidate Chris McDaniel, I became enraged to the point of losing a good night’s sleep. My first reaction was disappointment and disbelief that a Republican senator would stoop to that level against another Republican. My anger soon turned to the black citizens of Mississippi.

Empty promises seem to work well. Now I read that the naacp wants to know from thad cockroach when they're getting their payback. Reminds me of what lbj said after the vra '64 passed. To paraphrase, "give them just a little and we'll have them "n**&%s" voting dem for 200 years." Or something to that effect. Looks like the gop-e is using the same tactics when needed. (I'm sure one of the FReepers out there will supply the exact quote.) ;>}

Cochran himself is, from all reports, too old and out of it to have thought up and implemented something like this.

It had to be the establishment GOP and someone the equivalent of Rove doing it.

The republican party was formed by Christian abolitionists who fought to abolish slavery, fouhht for voting rights for blacks, and fought for civil rights laws.
