PLAIN CITY, Weber County A man convicted of assaulting another man over saved seats at an LDS meetinghouse chapel was ordered Wednesday to serve 30 days in jail.
Wayne Dodge, 52, pleaded guilty in May to assault, a class B misdemeanor. In exchange for his plea, an additional charge of aggravated assault, a third-degree felony, was dropped.
On June 30, 2013, Dodge, who regularly attended the Meadows Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Plain City, got into an argument with another family that was visiting. The church that day had a full house during sacrament meeting because of a missionary farewell and a baby blessing.
A family that normally does not attend that ward had sat down in a pew and was reserving seats for other family members. When Dodge sat down in one of the reserved seats, angry words were exchanged between the two parties, police said. That argument continued in the parking lot after sacrament meeting was over and became even more heated.
Dodge punched one of the men he was arguing with several times, leaving the man bloody, police said. The man went back inside the church to clean up. He exited just as Dodge was driving by. Investigators say the man then ended up on the hood of Dodge's car.
The man suffered minor injuries.

So, this man hits a guy several times, leaving him bloody. And then, somehow (the article doesn't explain how) uses his vehicle to ensure that the same guy as he walks winds up on the hood of his vehicle (presumingly as he's driving by).
And all of this Mormon behavior is mere "misdemeanor" stuff in Utah?
Dang. I just suck it up and stand in the back when all the Christmas and Easter people show up for Mass at my church.
Exactly!
He did this ... for a seat? Wow.
It seems the entitled are everywhere, even at church.
Mr. Dodge needs a thorough physical that especially looks at the physical health of his brain and bloodflow.
Something is not right in his head.

Because God is powerless to help us when we read the truth.
CAUTION!! MORMONIC CULT BASHING THREAD!!
WHAT? It is not related to faith. It is about a dispute and assault.

Hmmmmm. How in the world is this Christian bashing? And how does it weaken, presumably, the faith of any Christian?
This is just two “gods-in-embryo” bashing each other. What is Christian about that? And which is worse, thinking one is a “god-in-embryo” (if I recall, that is the expression Gordon B. Hinckley, or maybe Spencer Kimball, used to describe FAITHFUL Mormons) or bashing another human being (and only a human being)? That two such individuals think and do such is simply a doubled example of what Mormonism - not Christianity! - is.
Please specify the Mormon bashing in this thread. Thank you.
Mormon cultists behaving badly. When this is pointed out, those in the cult call it bashing. Generally, those who call it bashing are wearing the magic underwear as they type those words..
Would you rather Colofornian insert the word “church” wherever “LDS” is referred to? Much like the MSM refers to black thugs as “teens” when reporting on the knock out “game”.
Two things: mormonISM is not Christianity and they worship godS not God, and this news story is about really poor conduct of two adults.
Says quite a bit about poster Laotzu.

URGENT! It's been noted there has been a DRASTIC falloff in the number of MORMONs who actually can (or will) engage in opposing ANTIs on FreeRepulic (spit!) I am forced to re-issue and old memo you all received about 3 years ago.
