Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said Saturday that the county would house and care for hundreds of unaccompanied children in the country illegally from Central American and Mexico. Jenkins told delegates at the Texas Democratic Convention that the federal government would pick up the cost for the effort, which would be centered in Dallas and another city inside the county.
The unaccompanied minors could start arriving here at the end of July, Jenkins said.
My hope is that when Dallas County steps up, the state and others will step up as well, Jenkins said in a news conference after his convention speech.
Jenkins said Dallas and the unnamed city would each house up to 1,000 children. He did not say which facilities would be used for the kids, except that they could be in the form of unoccupied schools, hospitals or large buildings.
Though the plan does not have to be approved by the commissioners court, Jenkins said there would be community meetings. He added that Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings was on board.
The county, according to Jenkins, would have a contract to house the children for 120 days. Depending on the state of the crisis, the children could be in Dallas County much longer.
Jenkins said he was hopeful that churches and other community organizations would get involved in the process.
Its a great opportunity for our community to show compassion, he said.

Oh BTW, as "good democrats", when will you denounce abortion.
Oh I forgot, "good democrats" will never denounce abortion, especially when they need new voters, imported, and not aborted.
Just make sure the Demonut Party Pays the bills
The judge is a jackass.
Yes. Why not send all 50 to 100 thousand minors to Texas and keep them there, if Texas is going to be so welcome to them.
These children do not want to be US citizens ,they just want a never ending supply of cash so they can take it or send it back home
“. . .the federal government would pick up the cost for the effort, which would be centered in Dallas and another city inside the county.”
When did Congress appropriate the money for this expenditure?
I read (yesterday on FR?), that the Central American economy is pretty much dependent on monies sent from the USofA.
I wonder why the brain dead news media continues to refer to them as “unaccompanied children”. Were they turned loose to wander where they please?
everywhere we send money in the form of aid it does one thing and one thing only. Creates even more mouths to feed down the line. We are now seeing the effects of well meaning but poorly thought out aid.
apparently yes, they were.
Ajudge said this? And where does he get the authority to declare policy, thought this would be up to the Texas legislature and the city.
Labeling this a *crisis* of unaccompanied “chilrens” makes the invasion seem less destructive, in the eyes of the prog’s.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Soon, it will be even more *inhumane* for these poor “chilrens” to be here without their familias....
Only 120 days? They plan to bilk the federal government and greatly overcharge us.
I almost threw the remote at tht POS judge yesterday.
I hope the black community cries loud and long and stops this like the people did in Calif and va
This Jenkins is a stupid piece of chit who hope people don’t understand WE are the fed gov’t and it will be our money giving these illegals a life
Please let the people revolt against this
Jenkins told delegates at the Texas Democratic Convention that the federal government would pick up the cost for the effort
demand to see the money first...
Tell the Feds to “pay as you go”
no credit for the illegal aliens...
Plus all Texas vets musty get to see the doctors before one cent is used for illegal aliens..
its a travesty that there is endless amounts of emergency money available for foreign illegal aliens who hate our country and want to treat us like slaves..
but not for American citizen veterans who gave their youth and risked their lives for our national security..
Yep, send the bill to the DNC, along with projected costs for “free” education, healthcare, food stamps, incarceration, Obama phones, tuition, and pre-school.
Maybe they could divert some First Family vacation funds to house/feed/clothe/educate this poor kids.
a contract to house the children for 120 days..
Why aren’t these illegal aliens already back home in their own countries ???
How long does it take to say “Don’t come into this country”
or “Go back home” ???
LOL - good one molson..
Then what? Start using eminent domain to seize homes so these thousands of kids can have places to live in? Who's going to pay for them until they're 18 years old and on their own? Who's going to be assigned to be their mommies and daddies, or are they going to be the first wave of government-raised kids?
Jenkins is a County Commissioner on the Dallas County Commissioners Court. Nine of the 10 commissioners are democrats which is one of many reasons why Dallas County is not for the sane any more. This is all part of their scheme to tip Texas into another lib state by packing the cities with the dependent class.
The fact of the matter is that there is no effective opposition to this invasion coming from the Republican party.
I am convinced that a massive societal collapse is inevitable, and coming soon.
As Ben Franklin warned us: “A Republic if you can keep it”.
The Obama VACATIONS could pay for ALL the children in ALL of Central America!!!
I wonder why the brain dead news media continues to refer to them as unaccompanied children.
So all of us will say, “Well, okay, it’s for the children.” And so GOPe idiots like Brit Hume will keep telling us how wonderful the invaders are.
Why arent these illegal aliens already back home in their own countries ???
This time next year, they will be telling us that this is THEIR country and moving into our houses and taking anything else they fancy.
...are they going to be the first wave of government-raised kids?
Obama’s Alien Army of Cultural Destruction. Their mission is to completely obliterate the nation that you and I have known and loved. In ten years, we will not recognize the place, and the progs will be celebrating their smashing success.
Looks like the ding-a-ling in the WH is greasing a lot of palms to turn Repub states like Texas into Democrat strongholds.
As Jane Long insightfully posted----won't be long after the "children" get there to "humanely reunite" them w/ their families.
INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY---Central America Border Rush Fueled By Remittances
(extortion racket---US taxpayers to prop up corrupt govts)
......52,000 unaccompanied illegals crossed the south Texas border this year.....as the political debate focused on immigration enforcement, a key economic factor has been lost in the clamor. Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras, which are supplying three-quarters of the latest cross-border flood, and are dependent on their diaspora in the US to prop up their own woeful economies.
Immigrants send back billions of dollars to their families. Remittances have risen to 16.5% of El Salvador's GDP, 15.7% of Honduras' and 10% of Guatemala's, according to World Bank data. Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and Bolivia rely on remittances for 4.1% to 9.7% of GDP.
But the figure drops precipitously for every other country in Latin America. Mexico, with the largest immigrant population in the U.S. with as many as 13 million people, now relies on remittances for just 2% of GDP.
Migrant remittances to Mexico were $22 billion in 2013, 29% below their 2006 peak. For Colombia, once a locus of drug-war violence, that has turned itself around, remittances are only 1.1% of GDP. Free-market star Chile's figure is 0%.
It's not surprising to see Central American leaders urging the U.S. to let the newest arrivals stay. Those migrants' remittances offer a lifeline to desperately poor countries. While the money goes to families, it helps the broader economy......and ultimately fills government coffers.
A 2008 Pew Research Center survey found that 54% of foreign-born Hispanics send remittances to their home countries, compared to 17% of U.S.-born Hispanics. Undocumented immigrants are believed to send more cash home than either.
Virtually all the cash received by the three remittance outliers is from the U.S. (Guatemala 89%, El Salvador 90%, Honduras 87%).
The most compelling questions: how did so many get here so quickly? Where did their "impoverished elders" get the $8000 cash to transport them here? Did they have "inside info"...did they have guarantees that they'd be riding the US gravy train once they crossed the "border"?....
Illegals Central America trek---they had lotsa help.
In the meantime, their own homeless population will be left to continue to wander the streets, strung out on booze . . .
I hate these people.
