White House asks for $2 billion to speed deportations at the border

The Obama administration is asking Congress for $2 billion to address the crisis at the border. The administration wants the emergency appropriation "for rapidly expanding border enforcement actions and humanitarian assistance programs to cope with the influx."

They also are asking Congress for the authority to speed the deportation of parents who arrive with their children from Central America.\

New York Times:

The president will also ask Congress to revise existing statutes to give the Homeland Security secretary, Jeh Johnson, new authorities to accelerate the screening and deportation of young unaccompanied migrants who are not from Mexico. Fast-track procedures are already in place to deport young migrants from Mexico because it shares a border with the United States.

Mr. Obama will also ask for tougher penalties for smugglers who bring children and other vulnerable migrants across the border illegally, the officials said.

“This is an urgent humanitarian situation,” Cecilia Muñoz, the director of the White House Domestic Policy Council, said in a telephone interview on Saturday. “We are being as aggressive as we can be, on both sides of the border,” she said. “We are dealing with smuggling networks that are exploiting people, and with the humanitarian treatment of migrants while also applying the law as appropriate.”

Give the money to the local sheriffs. That’s the only way this is going to work. They actually care about their communities. But he is giving it to his favorite agency, Homeland Security who are now armed and ready to use them. Homeland Security has become Obama’s little army

Sensing the trend? Pick a problem, spend the budget exacerbating the problem, ask for more money to fix the problem. These are the actions of a "domestic enemy". I'd give money to the boots on the ground putting out the fire at the border, but not one penny to the bureaucrats in the Whitehouse fanning the flames. This is *the* most corrupt administration *ever*.

$2 billion will probably be earmarked for gay, bi and transgender training and solar panels.

$2 Bn for deportation.
Right.

...I don’t believe for a second that there will be any appreciable deportations.

Yeah, a border fence/wall would just be too damned expensive—billions!—and it’s racist and just wouldn’t work, so let’s spend billions on them and their lawyers as they continue to pour across the border.
DC pretzel logic

Since on January 29, 2014,a Dept. of the Executive Branch ICE requested contracts for "ESCORTS" for alien youths.
Suddenly in late May, all the month of June, there is a swelling of foreign immigrant youth at the Mexican border .
Since the Executive Branch solicited "ESCORTS" for the invasion
let the Executive Branch Departments take the financial hit of this invasion.

This is a contrived emergency designed by the Executive Branch and its departments.
It is CLOWARD-PIVEN created and fabircated by the Executive Branch , designed to create chaos
The Executive Branch fabicated it ; let them pay for it !
Actions have consequence !

put them back over the border. why is that going to cost 2 billion? You know all the freebies while processing them is where the 2 billion goes.

No kidding.
There are deeply disturbing events, precedents, and policies going on — to the extent that I would assert that it's not this administration, but something endemic to the entire structure. This is to say, I don't believe simply voting in new people will change it: the symptoms point to underlying issues which, I think, are indicative of the FedGov's accumulation of power. In order to change things, we must be willing to destroy whole agencies.

For that reason I cannot condemn Snowden and view his actions as heroic — he sacrificed job, security, and his home-country to reveal the extent to which the government is violating the supreme law of the land. (And do you really believe that he could have gone to congress, or our own news-outlets?)

That 2 billion will go to feeding, housing, medical for illegals. No way are they going to deport them after they recruited a person to bring them into our country.

Sure hope the Repub’s don’t fall for this- but if they don’t it will be reported in the news that Repub’s are heartless are children starving, being abused, etc.

Betchya!

Spend all of the new $2 billion on prompt deportations, no “humanitarian assistance.” Illegals need a fast ride out of our USA, not diapers or lunches.
