Gay Pride parades are stepping off around the world, in cities large and small.
In the U.S., rainbow flags line the streets of New York City's Fifth Avenue. Politicians including Gov. Andrew Cuomo (KWOH'-moh) and Mayor Bill de Blasio (dih BLAH'-zee-oh) are among those walking along a lavender line painted on the avenue from midtown Manhattan to the West Village.
Marchers are commemorating the 45th anniversary of the Stonewall Inn riots, which are credited with launching the modern gay rights movement.
In Chicago, about 1 million people are expected at this year's Gay Pride Parade. It's the first since Illinois' same-sex marriage law went into effect. Chicago's parade is also in its 45th year.
Parades are planned Sunday from coast to coast. Festivals were held Saturday in France, Spain, Mexico and Peru.

The national scout organization has a rule against marching in these gay parades in uniform.

When you look back to the Third Reich, it becomes obvious that Nazis have always been fond of marching in parades. Big parades with lots of colorful banners.
Yeah, that was actually very kind to the fans. 30,000 or so baseball fans trying to get in and out af Wrigley amongst a million or so ‘Pride’ marchers might have been a real mess.
It is weird to not have baseball for the Nats or Cubs on Sunday, can’t remember the last time that happened in baseball season.

Military color guard to march in gay pride parade

For the first time, a U.S. military color guard is expected to march alongside rainbow flags in Washington’s gay pride parade.
The Washington Post (http://wapo.st/1j2L9Mg ) reports an eight-member color guard team from the U.S. Army Military District of Washington is scheduled to lead off the parade Saturday. The Department of Defense authorized the participation.
Organizers and military gay rights groups say this is a first nationwide for a gay pride parade. The color guard will present the American flag and flags of each military branch.
Capital Pride organizers requested color guards in the past but were rejected.
In Toronto, there were city planning meetings and the homofascists made it clear that they didn’t care about it being “family friendly”. They didn’t want to see their flaunting public nudity prosecuted.
They feel that it’s time for them to let their freak flag fly.
