The left loses their minds over Hobby Lobby decision

Bart Stupak pretended to be pro-life, but voted pro-abortion. I saw an interview with him a few weeks ago where he defended his Obamacare vote even knowing now that it funds abortion. It just proves that there is no such thing as a pro-life Democrat. Joe Donnelly is another one.

I think it was all a show. They couldn't get any Republicans on board for Obamacare, so they pretended to reach out to "pro-life" Democrats.

The pro-life democrats pretended to put up a fight, and Obama pretended to care. In the end, nothing at all changed, but it made for good television drama. What a wonderful "negotiator" Obama was made out to be. He made fake concessions to fake resistors, and the fake media applauded it all as some great political feat.

The sad part is that Obama never offered any concessions. The bill passed as is. Donnelly, Stupak, et al. all voted for the exact same bill they had previously objected to.

The only concession that came up was an attempt to insert the Hyde Amendment into the bill. And it was Stupak, Donnelly, et al. who voted for its defeat. They are all baby-killing liars, one and all.

"Huge loss" - they cannot get TAX PAYERS to pay for their condoms under employee health care. I saw a tweet this morning where one of these left idiots said "how about we burn down the Hobby Lobby Stores like the GOP led KKK used to do". What makes their heads explode is not so much that some people will now have to lay out their own $9 per month, but that their MARXIST-IN-CHIEF was knocked down by SCOTUS and that puts a small dent in their ability to have the FEDS take over every aspect of our lives.

Does anyone remember Bart Stupak?
He was a Democrat congressman in 2010 when Obamacare came up for a vote. His problem with Obamacare was that it forced companies to pay for abortions over their moral objections.
He got a promise from King Obama himself that the law wouldn't do that.
Fast forward to 2014. Surprise, surprise, surprise! The Stupak provisions no longer apply.

A promise from Obama is as solid and lasting as a unicorn fart. Democrats have so many ways of lying and breaking promises that they never have to use the same method twice.

It seems that the answer to the question of how the law does what Obama promised it would not do lies in some Clintonion parsing.

From what I understand the Obamacare law itself does not explicitly require paid abortions. Nor does it specifically exclude them.

So in the strictest sense the Obama promise may have been kept. But the law does allow/require the HHS secretary to write the specific rules defining coverage details.

So it was a simple matter to bypass the Obama Promise by writing the morning-after pills and IUDs into the coverage details once the law was safely on the books.

We probably have a lot of Freepers who have more and better info than I have so maybe someone more knowledgeable can pitch in with a better answer.
