He is an intense brilliant investigative reporter and is close to the McDaniel campaign.

He is uncovering some good stuff.

He traveled with the Tea Party Express Bus Tour at primary time and also was with the group for the recall mini tour.

Well, Charles Johnson "broke" a story on David D. Kirkpatrick, the New York Times Cairo bureau chief, which turned out to be about 95% false. He actually used an obviously fake/satire newspaper as "proof" that Kirkpatrick had posed for Playgirl.

The true part of the story was that Kirkpatrick was arrested for lewd conduct after streaking, which is apparently a Princeton tradition, go figure. The rest of it - the newspaper pictures, the quotes, the Playgirl stuff, and being nude on a bridge, were all fake, and Charles Johnson fell for it. Note that he really took his time admitting that he was wrong.

Johnson paired with birther filmmaker Joel Gilbert (creator of "documentaries" including Paul McCartney Really Is Dead: The Last Testament of George Harrison and Elvis Found Alive!) on a story that Cory Booker never lived in Newark, which turned out not to be true.

Cory Booker: Yes, I Live In Newark. The claim that Booker resides elsewhere, which his opponent alleged Monday, is a “desperate stunt,” his campaign says. Property records and documentation of rental payments put Booker in Newark, where he has served as mayor since 2006

And now it looks like he's working with Gilbert again on the Mississippi stuff.

This is the same Gilbert who claims in his birther film that Obama's mother made pornographic films. The problems are many: the model in the photos is known; the photos were published when Obama's mother would have been very underaged, making publication of the photos a felony; and she couldn't have known Frank Marshall Davis, who Gilbert says took the pictures, during the time frame they were taken and published.
