A federal appeals court's gay marriage ruling contained two historic firsts: It was the first appellate decision for gay marriage since the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act one year ago, and it also marked the first time since then a federal judge has argued for keeping a state ban on same-sex marriages...
Judge Paul J. Kelly, Jr. was in the minority in his opinion....[said] creating a national mandate for gay marriage, even in states where it is unpopular, "turns the notion of a limited national government on its head," he wrote, adding later: "We should resist the temptation to become philosopher-kings, imposing our views under the guise of constitutional interpretation of the 14th Amendment."
The dissent heartened gay marriage opponents, who saw a hope of ending their year-long losing streak and puncturing the aura of inevitability that now surrounds same-sex marriage.

Thankfully our attorney general Pam Bondi is DEFENDING the law. The homosexuals and their lawyers want the judge to issue an edict from the bench immediately.

There is no such thing as a federal marriage license. That power is relegated solely to the states and as such, the state should be allowed to define marriage as they see fit.
There is not a f3ederal license, however, a marriage that is legal in one state is legal in all states.
Only one state has to pass polygamy and then it will eventually end up in all states.
The reciprocity laws never meant to be used as a club to force change in other states. So far no judge has had the nerve to claim that it does.
Most state statutes have Uniform Acts connected to them so that a decision in one state applies in all states, driver licenses, is one example, child custody statutes is another.
