"Today, Republicans in Congress could use some of that strategic wisdom in battling a President who is attacking the very foundation of liberty in America from all directions."

We are truly and throughly screwed, if you put your hope in strategic wisdom or simply fighting in John Boehner and Kevin McCarthy.

Man, the House GOP "Leadership" are complete morons, who can't see past their next bar tab.

they would be attacking relentlessly, repeatedly, and vigorously. Because that is how you defeat a stubborn enemy. (My emphasis)

The operative word is attacking which doesn't seem to exist in the GOPe vocabulary....

“As Patton and MacArthur demonstrated “

Both Patton and MacArthur demonstrated how to be removed from command by the President.

In a perfect world, the repubs model general would be WT Sherman.

Patton certainly had severe personality flaws.

And he was the only General the Nazis were scared of.

Often those traits are combined in a person who achieves great things.

Were Douglas MacArthur or George Patton in the Congress today;

They'd be labeled as obstructionist, attacked for being Tea Party candidates and called extremist. ALL by the GOPe!

Mac was an arrogant SOB who thought of himself first. Not exactly the guy you want running your country.

The Patton most people think of is really George C Scott.

Patton was a Renaissance man; a poet and a thinker. His tactics on the battlefield were wonderful. His ability to get his message across to superiors was also arrogant and ham-handed.

While I would want Patton leading me on the field, neither of them would have made decent politicians.

Oh, the word is in their vocabulary.

When they’re against conservatives!

The hell with WWII generals. I’m thinking we should be following the WWII vets from Athens, Tenn.

Douglas MacArthur was known as “Dug-Out Dug” for a reason and I suspect he would fit right in with the current bunch. How incredibly sad...

Unfortunately, 0bama and his fascist minions are well inside the feckless GOP's OODA Loop and are maintaining at least two steps ahead.

The GOP's strategy is like Saddam Hussein's strategy against the US military which was to sit in place and wait for something to happen so you could react to it. That strategy will be just as successful for the GOP capons as it was for Saddam.

Where did you get that? From HST?

Doesn’t mention the fifth and strongest front of contempt of congress for officials who waffle. They need to apply this post haste.

An arsonist is no model for anything except terror. We don’t need generals; we need fighters. Like Daniel Morgan, Francis Marion, John Singleton Mosby.

Neither does “defending”.

How about “Roll over and play dead”? Yeah, they’ve mastered that trick. Unfortunately.
