HOUSTON, Texas--On Thursday Texas Governor Rick Perry spoke at a House Homeland Security Committee field hearing near the Texas-Mexico border, where lawmakers discussed the thousands of illegal immigrants entering the country each day. Perry wasted no time stressing that the migrants--many of whom are minors--must be sent back to their home countries as soon as possible.
"Nobody is doing any of these children the slightest favor by delaying a rapid return to their countries of origin, which in many cases is not Mexico," the governor said. "Allowing them to remain here will only encourage the next group of individuals to undertake the same life-threatening journey. Those who have come must be sent back to demonstrate, in no uncertain terms, that risking their lives to cross Mexico and enter our country simply isn’t worth it."
He mentioned that because Border Patrol agents are stuck taking care of the children in facilities, there are less agents actively patrolling the border. Because of this, Perry said "the border between the U.S. and Mexico is less secure today than anytime in the recent pass."
He continued, "We’re also in danger at the hands of those who might be slipping through from countries with known terrorist ties. With a range of potential threats facing us from abroad, this is not the time to turn our attention elsewhere. ... Secure this border, Mr. President. Finally address this issue, put an adequate number of Border Patrol agents on the ground permanently."
In Perry's view, if action is not taken soon "the flow [of illegal immigrants] is not going to stop."

Definitely; as Hong Kong was being turned over to Red China, Canada was willing to take in anyone that could come up with I believe $100,000. They didn’t have to pay it to get in; Canada didn’t want them simply setting themselves up on welfare (the way so many of our immigrants do).
They are everywhere. I travel to Florida often. They are all over Naples, Clearwater, Tampa.
You can go into some Wal-Marts around Orlando and you think you are in a third world country -- mostly Spanish spoken.
The reality is there are likely 60-80 million third world anti-American, anti-English illegals.
I fear our Republic may be too far gone.
Why wait for the federal government? Send in the national guard, deputize and arm citizens!

I’ve always maintained that the “official figure” was far too low; we have a lot of illegals here in NJ.

I agree. Perry has an opportunity to stand up and fight. The presidency is his for the taking. We are about to see if he has it in him.

If Perry doesn’t get serious about this invasion, and right quick, then he should be removed from office. Further inaction on his part would be Aid and Comfort to the Enemy.

The key is to send them back the minute they cross the border.This is what needs to be done. A fence is not the answer and here is the reason why. If we were to build a fence it would be similar to the Berlin wall, that is how the world would see it. Look what happened when that wall was torn down at behest of RR. We now have a European Union where most countries have lost their sovereignty. If we were to build a fence, in short order the rest of the world would demand we tear down the fence and the outcome would be similar, A North American Union. Nope, no fence, just send them back as soon as they step across.That would be the best message we could send.

You have no idea how wrong you are about how I think about this.World pressure brought down the wall, and so it would also bring down a fence. As I stated, send them all back to their countries immediately as soon as they cross our border, not a bus ride to our cities, a plane ride back to their country. In short order they would quit coming if they knew they were going back. Do you really expect or think any of our future politicians would let a wall or fence stand? Once you draw a line you better be prepared to defend it forever, I don’t see that happening currently or in the near future.
All you would need is another obama or a carter a few years down the road to see that happen.
Or another Gorbachev.
