The Iron Dome rocket defense system intercepted four rockets fired from the Gaza Strip toward southern Israel on Saturday night.
Three rockets were shot down over Asheklon after the rocket defense system intercepted a projectile fired at Beersheba.
Another rocket fell in an open area near Ashkelon, and a second one exploded in Sha'ar Hanegev.
Earlier in the evening, the Israel Air Force struck three terror sites in southern Gaza Strip in response to a continuous barrage of rockets fired at southern Israel throughout the day.
"The IDF is prepared to defend Israeli citizens from any threat and will continue to act decisively and as long as necessary until quiet the routine are restored," the IDF Spokesperson's Unit said in a statement.

Isn’t this the month of Ramadan? I thought they all stopped fighting? Or is it they just stop fighting each other?
Why is it that a small ragtag group of ISIS terrorists has been able to conquer half of Iraq in barely two weeks, yet the mighty Israeli Defense Forces have not been able to put Hamas out of commission after years of trying?
Israel does not have to reconquer Gaza, all it has to do is bomb Hamas’s missile sites so they no longer threaten Israeli kindergarteners, yet the Israeli Powers That Be refuse to do that. And we think WE have a weak president.
Hamas doesn’t place it’s missile sites at military locations...They place ‘em right in the middle of women and children...
But women and children can be saved by giving them warnings to evacuate the premises before the bombs hit.
If Menachem Begin and his Irgun forces hadn’t bombed the King David hotel — after giving warnings — in the late 1940s, the British occupiers would not have left Palestine and there would be no Israel today.
If Benjamin Netanyahu and his IDF are not willing to similarly bomb Hamas missile sites today, there will be no Israel tomorrow.
Give Bibi a bunch of MOAB’s and call it a day.
