People will believe with all their hearts that Obama is out to destroy America. But anyone who questions the Bushes is considered a wacko. And that is the reason we’re in the shape we’re in. Way too many people trust people who haven’t earned their trust.
Anyone who talked about the dangers of a second attack on the World Trade Centre - prior to 2001 - appeared to be a conspiracy nut. But look what happened - and yet, even that major assualt, for which not one person has been subject to an open judicial proceeding, is enough to shake people from the torpor of regarding everything as ok.
The population moves, which you note in your post, are also extraordinary, yet go without comment.
The Middle East policy which sees the US and EU arming al-Qaida in Syria (under some other phoney name) is just amazing, but people wink at it.
