most locals know that Hemet/San Jacinto is a "welfare dump" for the Inland empire.

it started out to be a nice retirement area because of low real estate prices in the 1980's then when the old people died off and never cycled back in, it became a ghost town of empty apartment housing, so the welfare people filled the void with section 8's, now the place is loaded with welfare moms, gangs and prison releases, hardly any jobs there and way isolated

I used to teach there - lots of gang members shipped in from S. central LA.
