For the second time on Tuesday evening, a rocket was launched at central Israel from the Gaza Strip.
An Iron Dome battery intercepted a projectile over the greater Tel Aviv area.
Sirens sounded in various cities in central Israel on Tuesday night and blasts were heard in Tel Aviv.
The air raid siren was activated in cities including Rishon Lezion, Bat Yam, Holon and Bnei Barak, but not in Tel Aviv.
Earlier on Tuesday evening, the Iron Dome rocket defense system intercepted a projectile near Tel Aviv over the city of Rishon Lezion, as air raid sirens sounded in central Israeli cities for the first time amid recent escalations.

We met a young couple from Israel when the husband, a pilot, was here at our base taking a flight safety class that my husband is in charge of. They had the 2 cutest little boys and the family came to enjoy a vacation in the US while the husband took the course.
We talked about life in Israel and I was amazed at how they were so accepting of the challenges faced daily there. They wanted to rent an apartment or home for the 8 weeks they were here in town and I was flabbergasted when the wife said they’re heard our town had a bad crime rate, would they be safe. But that’s different than the threat the average Israeli lives with daily....
In Israel people pretty much don’t worry about the things we worry about here. When I was there last year, around 5pm I saw a little boy crossing the street, he must have been 8 years old, by himself..kids in Israel don’t worry about being abducted(At least as long as your not in the West Bank)..you come home when you feel like it, its an easy going attitude. We stayed in Herzliya, its a beach community and where my now brother in law’s family lives. People walk around at all hours of the night, no worries..and people are used to the rocket fire, they know what to do when the sirens go off..its scary for us since we are not used to it, but they are unfortunately very used to the life.
Thanks for that peek into daily life in Israel! I very much got the feeling you described when speaking with this young couple. At least Israelis don’t have to worry that their leaders hate their country and citizens like we know our _resident does.

That’s the way they work. There was an article on FR yesterday that revealed that they don’t go after the ones that are going to land in a field.
Israel has a wide mix of people..the majority of them can’t stand Obama..of course you have the leftist Israelis who like him, but the majority of Israeli’s know that Obama doesn’t care about them, only for the Arabs..In fact, go to Israel and you will never see CNN on their TV’s..only Fox News, because in 2006 when Israel was fighting Lebanon, CNN accused Israel of murdering innocent women and children so CNN is pretty much banished over there..it exists but no one really watches it. Israel is a beautiful country, one day you should check it out. The flight isn’t fun(15 hrs depending on where you live) but once you are there you won’t regret it

Thanks Sarah. It’s always been on my list of places I want to go. I’m hoping to make that happen in the next year or two.
Always take El Al, its the best airline..if you have frequent flyer miles use that..and upgrade to Business Class..trust me, you don’t want to sit like sardines for 15 hours LOL..been there done that and its NOT fun

Good test. Anti-ballistic missile defense does work, and our own forces have many levels of it along with offensive weapons for responding to blocked foreign enemy attacks.
I visited the Old City for a 10 day walk about,1994 IIRC,and I just loved it.

I went to the Wall in Jerusalem..its an amazing sight..but it was VERY hot..around June is when its very very hot and you have to do a lot of walking so not recommended for those who have medical problems..I was tired but it was worth the walk, packed with people..and everywhere you look you would see Israeli soldiers, men and women, carrying guns..I felt VERY safe..in Israel, people walk around with guns and no one makes a fuss, here its “OMG GUN SHELTER IN PLACE” LOL not in Israel
We were in Jerusalem for 6 days ( 3 side trips). On Sunday there were military everywhere on day passes. They had been told to wear their uniforms and weapons. never felt so secure.

It was early May so not too hot.
Want to go again while I can still walk.
The tour guide who showed us Jerusalem lives along the West Bank, he offered to take us there for a tour, we were like NO THANKS LOL..but you notice throughout certain areas, they have electric fences(When I saw them I thought to myself, this is what we need at our southern border) Tel Aviv is beautiful too, went to the beach over there..nice shops, everyone is so friendly, you do see many Israeli Arabs around, they look at you funny but otherwise keep to themselves..you always know who the non Jews are when you are out and about on Shabbat and see people walking around..Religious Jews don’t work on the Sabbath so they replace those workers with either Israeli Arabs or at the local market we went to, they were Russian, I doubt they were Jewish
I was surprised by Gaza residents touring at places like the Garden Tomb.
We spent most of our time in Jer and places like Masada, Nazareth, Jordan, and Capharnum (sp).
Stayed in an apartment near the Yehuda Market one week for the same price as one night at the King David.
You see the most Arabs in Tel Aviv, that is where you see the most of them walking around, at least that is how it was for me. We wanted to go see Haifa but it was a four hour drive from where we were so basically you have to make a day out of it..or if your planning on staying a few days to rent an Apt so we skipped it. My Mom and most of my family were born and raised in Israel so they are already familiar with the areas, it was more for me and my sister who were too young to remember what Israel looked like so we toured some of the areas

October,I think,was Very nice,3 days on the MT. of Olives then I got closer to the City via the Pilgrims Palace.
The Garden Tomb was visible from the hotel.
Just Amazing!
