Now that we have light rail, the progressives are ready to move on to the next step, streetcars along Seventh Street in St. Paul, with more lines to follow. The city council will vote Wednesday night to authorize a detailed study of a streetcar line between Arcade Street and Randolph Avenue on Seventh. That would be a second study, the first one being last year, your money paid out to a consulting firm from San Francisco. Progressives are dedicated to blocking the individual while encouraging the collective, but that offers no evidence of progress of any kind. There are already many means of transportation: collective bicycles, cars, ride sharing, buses, light rail. To object to streetcars is not the same as attempting to prevent anybody from getting around. We already get around.

Commies and trains, it’s a total compulsion with these tards.
Mainly, the LIBiots want to remove the Freedom that is afforded you by a personal vehicle. They despise your Freedom.
Either that or they crave a location where you can’t escape their attempts to talk at you.
Notice the good lefties are not pushing for light rail into North Minneapolis?
Why do you think that is?
“I hear that train a coming.
It’s rolling round the bend.
And I ain’t seen the sunshine
Since I don’t know when.
But I’m stuck in St. Paul city
And time keeps dragging by.
And when the taxpayers hear that streetcar
They hang their heads and cry.”
Interesting phrasing in the PP by Joe Soucheray. Collectives, progressives offering no progress blocking the individual, hummm....
We should crowdsource that DManA. It could go from Dowling and Lyndale all the way to the Walker, through Uptown and end near 35W. With plenty of stops along the way. Maybe it would be better if it zigzagged between the lakes. So many possibilities.
Over the weekend I was watching a 1954 movie called “Dragnet” with Jack Webb. I saw streetcars on rails moving along in a straight line while cars (big ones with lots of chrome) drove by and get this they had the ability to make turns and go at any speed and direction! It was amazing.....
I bet the drivers could start their trips at any time or go any distance but that just gotta be my imagination.
Gov’t people know best.
Last time I was there I saw many many people up and down the blocks sitting out on their steps. I was guessing they were unemployed. So unemployed and probably angry at the “man”. Want could go wrong? Build that train!
