But fake or not-it does afford the opportunity to nail em.

Yeah, but our side looks silly waving a fake document to bring them down. Yes, I know, I know the left gets away with it all of the time, but we can’t.

Really, you can’t see that they would not use such a phrase? It would be more like something along the lines of “Enjoy a wonderful selection of wines from the Ladeeda Winery in beautiful Sonoma Valley.
As I said, someone is being fooled here.

Then Powerline is very likely the one being had here. I still maintain that these papers are not the real thing, and I suspect that some progressive is having a good laugh at Powerline's expense.

Five high-powered lawyers and their staff being had? Maybe, but I doubt it.

I've been to these kinds of confabs, dinners and cocktail parties. Back then no one would have been so informal in the wording, but it is 2014, not 1987, so the sloppiness and silliness of the Left doesn't surprise me at all, even at that level. Remember: The big-wigs don't do the grunt work for these people, the “dude, that was two years ago!” staffers do and they're typical Millennials, casual, lazy, ironic and badly educated, yet sure of themselves, since they've been getting trophies and ribbons for just showing up their whole lives.

It would be more like something along the lines of Enjoy a wonderful selection of wines from the Ladeeda Winery in beautiful Sonoma Valley." Your version does not even convey the main point they were trying to impress their audience with.
The wines were from wineries owned by members of their exclusive "concerned for the poor" club.
They phrased it awkwardly because the hipsters in charge of desktop publishing learned the language in internet chat rooms.
If the documents were fake, they'd have something interesting in them. Something stupid that they wanted conservative bloggers to jump on so they could announce their successful duping of "rightwing hysterics". These documents make these rich hypocritical boring people look exactly like rich hypocritical boring people. Where's the scam?

My my my, looks like a portfolio manifesto for America's communists.
And the man called 0bama and his pet lizard ValJar are heroes to every one of them.

I tend to agree that it’s genuine, for similar reasons.
Who but a cadre of limousine leftists would fail to see the irony in printing “lessons we can learn from New York’s path to social and economic equality” literally two inches away from “a glass of wine and late night snacks... in the Ritz-Carlton’s Presidential Suite offering stunning views of the Chicago skyline.”
