Morning Plum: Obama to set off bomb in middle of midterms
Washington Post ^ | July 9, 2014 | BY GREG SARGENT

Now that Republicans have made it clear that they will not participate on any level in basic problem solving when it comes to our immigration crisis, it is now on Obama to determine just how far he can go unilaterally, particularly when it comes to easing the pace of deportations. This is going to be one of the most consequential decisions of his presidency in substantive, moral, and legal terms, and politically, it could set off a bomb this fall, in the middle of the midterm elections.

If it’s determined that our homes are under-utilized for our family size, then the Feds can assign us a number of immigrants to come live with us...

That can ONLY happen if the 'Rats are successful at breaching the third amendment.

[in other words, breach the 3rd like they've breached 1st, 2nd, 4th thru 10th]

The Editorial Pages of the WSJ is one of the biggest supporters of open borders.

It's entirely true, what you write.

The normally courageous, conservative, and correct WSJ editorial page has somehow lost every smidgeon of clear thinking when it comes to illegal aliens.

They just do not see illegals being the pathway to Dem tyranny, which it absolutely is.

I have read or heard little or nothing from lib media sources that would make me believe they’ve lost faith in Fearless Leader. They do nothing but apologize for King Barack and continue to blame Republicans for not cooperating with His Royal Highness’s plan to “help people.” Just read any of E.J. Dionne’s or Dana Milbank’s a..-kissing Obama columns to understand.

No, they call totally open borders immigration reform. They just don’t want to admit that yet.

Owebama and the RAT media think that his illegal ‘executive actions’ can be used by RAT senators in the midterms to bolster support are forgetting the fact that no RAT senators are willing to go on record supporting him.

Whatever that bastard does now will enflame both sides against him. Owebama is too stupid to see how toxic he is now.

Someone needs to kick the Shiite out of Valarie Jarret and tell her to keep him on the golf course for the next couple years.

Wasn’t that one of the grievances we went to war over a couple of hundred years ago?

Something about the third amendment was supposed to take care of that.

Ironically, a couple of years ago, I was in a discussion at work about how the this amendment could never be violated. it wouldn’t make any sense. looks like I may have been wrong.

Of course, in the new Obama America, there is no loyal opposition - crucial to a democracy - but all opposition has been criminalized.

I remember the 'good old days' when it was understood the Prez had to make a case for what he wanted.

If Congress wasn't persuaded, it wasn't persuaded.

20 years ago, a local commentator said the issue wasn't left versus right but elite versus 'commomer,' what has been called "Country versus Court" by historians.

The WSJ can't help themselves...they have some romantic notion of immigrants which may have been true once, in some world at some point in history. They follow the siren song of 'Noblesse Oblige.'

They have no notion of the consequences of defacto open borders which we endure daily. Besides, where will all the reasonably priced landscapers, maids and nannies come from?

Yes indeed, we went to war over quartering. It relates to the opposite of private property rights - that “your” home and “your” possessions were essentially property of King George. As the feral’s grow, they essentially become more of the mindset that our property is their property, what with taxes, our businesses, our labor. While it might be a tad (emphasis on might) whimsical to still think of the 3rd being breached... the fact remains that unlike yesterday, we are starting to be concerned for this last of the un-breached Bill of Right amendments.

I believe the thinking is that they will be customers of Walmart and McDonalds which purchase lots of ad space in the WSJ.

And that is their plan. Not an efficient way to save a patient but a very efficient way to destroy a nation.

The quartering act was not switched ON from an OFF position. There was a ramp-up... starting around 1766, with billeting soldiers in taverns and empty houses. Later on, occupied homes. Same would happen here, were the 3rd to be breached... right now, looking for military bases and, instead of taverns, bus stations. It can grow from there...

Say, five years ago....if I had to pick one amendment that wasn't in any jeopardy at all...that I was "safe" from ever having to worry about, or pay attention to any incursions on ... it would have been the 3rd.

Truly, we're venturing into uncharted waters. Makes me wonder where the dropoff will be.
