When the borders where enforced, few people crossed them illegally.
Enforcement means deporation or jail time, it’s a crime to cross the border illegaly. President Roosevelt sent over a million of them back home.
Other elements:
* Not having Engish as the official language
* Not having to prove citizenship to get benifits
* Having massive government benifits creates non-working citizens
* Banks, corporations and USG have moved our jobs overseas, leaving jobs which citizens won’t do
