The Supreme Court declined Monday to review a ruling that overturned a Pennsylvania towns effort to fight illegal immigration, leaving the legal situation muddled for communities.
Justices declined without comment to hear an appeal from Hazleton, Pa., which saw an appeals court strike down its ordinances prohibiting illegal immigrants from renting rooms and barring businesses from employing them.
But a different appeals court last year upheld a similar ordinance from Fremont, Neb., and backers said the Supreme Court should have stepped in to provide a final answer.

Haven't heard any local politicos talk about what's going on at the border.
The city should go ahead and enforce the law. It should not be up to the courts to pick and choose laws—their job is to enforce, not make, law.
The Civil Veto should become a phrase and an act that becomes part of everyday life.
Ivory-tower judges telling us not to obey or enforce the written law can get stuffed.
Let Jose the Indigent Illegal try and mount a legal defense against multiple charges. If some lefty legal aid outfit steps in, make sure there are dozens of Jose the Indigent Illegals and that legal aid will vanish quickly, since their idealistic lawyers aren’t idealistic enough to work for free.
These illegals are part of a master plan to re-populate areas abandoned by “Anglo-Americans”; since Dems are always expanding government workforces, they are in a quandary as to how to keep so many employed while the populations flee.
This will be their answer, funded by the federal government since the local governments of such urban ghost towns are broke...

A better way would be to just get on the interstate and hammer down at 90 MPH until you are in the middle of nowhere, then pull over and when they all hop out, take off.

Understandable; I just think the government already knows where they are “needed”...
