Ray Nagin received a sentence of 10 years in federal prison for public corruption Wednesday, but the former New Orleans mayor continues to deny that he is guilty of any wrongdoing.

“Well, you know, all of this was pretty surreal to me,” Nagin told the WDSU TV news station. “I still maintain my innocence. We’re going to appeal this thing.”

Former New Orleans mayor of some unknown political party......... Well of course they're gonna appeal. Probably GWB set him up as pay back for being critical of Bush's response to Katrina.

Nagin is a repulsive excuse for a man. I hope he dies in prison as payback for allowing hundreds of people to die in N.O.

Targeting, smearing, and tarnishing are normal events that happen to smelly pieces of sh....er...Obamastuff lying in the road.

Shove it, Nagin.

Playing the race card is so....so...Obamalike.

And even more repulsive.

Face it, you are are quite simply a low-grade crook.

This is what happened, as reported in NOLA online a day or so before Katrina hit: President Bush called Nagin to advise evacuation of the city. Nagin decided an announcement of extreme danger would be “bad for business,” and did not pass on Bush’s warning. He did not even mobilize city and school buses in advance of the hurricane, just in case they might be needed.

We all know the result. But somehow it all got to be Bush’s fault. I kept that NOLA Online article for years.

Nagin should have been jailed long ago.

Having grown up with no moral compass outside of the South Louisiana Democrat political machine, I am sure that Ray Nagin really believes he has done nothing wrong. As Edwin Edwards once said, “If I am in office, of course my friends will profit.”

“In my opinion, I’ve been targeted, smeared and tarnished,” Nagin explained to WDSU. “For some reason, some of the stances I took after Katrina did not sit well with some very powerful people, and I paid the price.”

In the immediate aftermath of Katrina, or maybe before it had subsided, when a Mayor , you would think, should be doing everything he could to help his city, didn’t Nagin, instead, head to Dallas supposedly to take his family to safety.

What a thoroughly worthless POS.

And isn’t it such a typical “chocolate thing” to always blame someone else and never take responsibility?!

I would imagine it doesn't sit well with all of those that died as a result of his inaction either.

Katrina Karma - now here is a new perspective with the juxtaposition of those two concepts....

Everybody was so consumed by the apparent “insensitivity” of George W. Bush, who did a fly-over, but did not make a physical visit to the city, that it became a campaign issue. Now, the Current Occupant now squatting in the White Hut, within only a few miles of the border crisis (largely of his own making), cannot make even a cursory visit to “welcome” the new immigrants. Doesn’t want to make a photo-op out of this humanitarian “situation”, doncha know.

Is this not the Current Occupant’s “Katrina Moment”?

The MenSeekingMen GEORGE BUSH HATES BLACK PEOPLE mantra (that Kanye West erupted) was paving the way specifically for the poshitus we have today.

The Louisiana political machine were so invested in destroying W they refused his help days ahead of landfall, murdering 1300+ of their own citizens, all in the name of destroying the Republican brand.

‘Never let a crisis go to waste’.
