Wow! Our son went to Elon University where Taylor attended years before. As the story goes, not sure if true.......in his song going to Carolina, he was not referring to one of the states but to Carolina which was a girls dorm at Elon. I just love the lyrics of fire and rain, they are so authentic.

Interesting. I have always understood that he was referring to his home town, Chapel Hill, and UNC which is located there.
