ISIS — the al-Qaida splinter group that has captured city after city in Iraq — is proving itself to be a bold, in-your-face terrorist group that poses a major threat to the U.S. and all of Western civilization, Sen. John Barrasso says.
"Our homeland [is] in direct threat. We are the target and my concern is the safety and security of the people of the United States,'' the Wyoming Republican told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV Thursday.
"The area that they have taken in Syria and Iraq is larger than the state of Indiana and when you see their commander go to the pulpit to preach … this is very different than what Osama Bin Laden did where he took to hiding out.
"They are emboldened, they are out in public and feel they have control of a large enough area that he can come out in public in that way. This is going to be a religious effort to go after the entire western way of life''
Barrasso, chairman of the Senate Republican Policy Committee and member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, criticized President Barack Obama's decision to pull all U.S. troops from Iraq, which has led to the rise of ISIS.
"Whenever the United States leaves a vacuum bad actors move in and it emboldens and invites them to move in and we have done that,'' he said, noting the Obama administration's tepid response to other world hotspots.
"When he makes threats about Russia when they invade the Ukraine with forces that are causing disorder there and the threats turned out to be empty that emboldens others.
"It emboldens not just in the Middle East, it emboldens Russia, it emboldens China, it emboldens North Korea, so it's a global thing.''

Yes. A Caliphate if accepted by Muslims, is not an extremist group, a “moderate” institution, it IS ISLAM, period. Islam has been at war, jihad, for 1400 years and the world is not under Sharia Law yet....peace is not achieved at all until it is. A Caliphate is command central for worldwide Jihad.
The danger is ...real, accelerated. With the US interceding on the Sunni side, “Sunni Side UP”, via the Muslim Brotherhood associations in the Executive Branch,the US is enhancing the legitimacy and enhancement of Islamist causes just by association. “Reaching out” is just an opportunity to get “grabbed”.

Sen. John Barrasso should rephrase that statement to: ISLAM Is Threat to US Homeland.
But he won’t say that just like no politician or MSM puke dares to utter that truth.

Maybe Sen. Barrasso can get to the bottom of the articles I read today stating that ISIS had been trained by the USA. Had been outfitted with an arsenal of weapons and rockets, etc.

These guys are not a “threat” to the US an more than a horesfly.
Yes, they might set off a bomb on a NY street. And that would suck. But they are not a “threat” to the existence of this country.
When they do that, we can bomb them back to the stone age.
We do not need to get involved in any more of that crap over there. We should be done with that part of the world.

A dirty bomb would not kill millions. It would just scare millions.
We need to tone down the rhetoric and keep things in context.

I guess millions of scared people wouldn't be dangerous, either. I mean, no one would take advantage of a national crisis to, oh, I don't know, maybe flood even more millions of illegal aliens into our country, or say, maybe invade us in the case of China? I guess a dirty bomb attack wouldn't do any damage at all to our national economy, infrastructure, transportation, communications, et al, would it? Whew...I'm so relieved.

Tone down the rhetoric my a**. We need to wake up and take off the rose colored glasses. This nation is in deep doo-doo on a number of fronts, and we need to quit pretending we can fix it with an election. We need some kind of Great Awakening in this nation, but we keep roiling over and hitting the snooze button.
