“Read the Constitution. Start at the Tenth Amendment”
Starting at the beginning might be a good idea as well.
The FDA has been a successful use of our system as a people.
Our Constitution is a limitation on government. If an authority is not granted to .gov, that function MAY NOT BE DONE BY GOVERNMENT. Period. And an FDA is NOT authorized, nor a good idea for .gov to be involved with. Protecting us from criminals (states and locals) is proper. Protecting us from foreign threats is proper (fedgov). NOTHING ELSE unless at the state or local level, PERIOD.
Furthermore, FDA has kept many good and useful drugs off the market far longer than needed except to cover some bureaucrap’s behind, contributing to YEARS of needless suffering and death. Which makes it useless as well as unconstitutional. The General Welfare clause you seem enamored with is a GOAL, not a grant of authority.
