An expected +6 pickups means GOP hopes are slipping away.

Since this election cycle began, it was “expected” that the GOP would not have any difficulty picking up the 6 seats needed for control of the Senate. However, if someone tells me, days ahead of time, that they expect the sun to shine all day today, yet I wake up and see that the clouds are getting darker and the wind is picking up, I’d say the chances of the sun shining are “slipping away”.
It looks as good as can have been expected. We were never going to run the table like we did in 2002. Stay calm and carry on.
