A militia has set up a command center south of San Antonio to prepare for what they say is a mission to protect the United States from the influx of illegal immigrants.

The militia, operating via the website PatriotsInformationHotline.com, founded by Barbie Rogers, said members at the command center in Von Ormy will deploy to Laredo first and spread to other parts of the border, a local ABC affiliate reported.

Chris Davis, the 37-year-old commander of the group, would not disclose how many members make up the militia, but said the troops would deploy “in a few weeks.”

“We have patriots all across this country who are willing to sacrifice their time, their monies, even quit their jobs to come down and fight for freedom, liberty and national sovereignty,” Mr. Davis told the station.

Customs and Border Protection said in a statement that it “does not endorse or support any private group or organization from taking matters into their own hands as it could have disastrous, personal and public safety consequence,” the station reported....

This country was started by people who "took things into their own hands" as I recall.

Yep, and if our citizens don’t take things into their own hands, nothing will get done. I’m sick of waiting on these bureaucrats and red tape while our country goes down the drain. Where would we be without Paul Revere and the minutemen taking matters into their own hands?

More than that, it's supposed to be run by 'We, the people'.

Our government is not separate or above us, it is of us. Without us people taking things into our own hands there is no government that must be respected.

Sounds like the government flunky forgot about that, and thinks the servant is the master.

There's a fix for that.

But much more importantly, the risked everything, homes, property, wealth, imprisonment, and death to fight for independence, sovereignty and freedom from tyranny.

Real character, real perseverance, real guts to lay it all on the line.

Travis, Houston, the heroes of the Alamo and the Texas revolution fought and died for Texas- and today’s whimpy Texans and their leaders do nothing while Texas is invaded by a tsunami of illegal aliens- and most likely Muslim terrorists. (and even shot at across the border)

My deepest apologies to those heroes. It appears their sacrifices were all for nothing. How ashamed they would be.

We're letting Mexico take Texas back without a whimper.

Well you're not taking it into your own damn hands. WHO -- but WHO will protect this country if the people we elected and pay to protect it will not? WHO????

It’s not just TX. See southwest U.S. to the east coast.

Begs the question, at what cost for tens of hundreds of thousands....and millions more? Why do these people not fight for their own freedom and help themselves back home? How many millions can we help, as America is being pummeled and looted? WHEN does the USA say enough? Do we dare offend the easily offended?

Costly? It’s been described as national suicide. But who knows? I’m just hoping my pizza shows up soon.

I think we can now guess at why Obama was laughing and giggling at the meeting with Governor Perry. He’s found the right button to push us into physically acting.

We are looking right down the barrel of CWII and Martial Law. All he needs to do next is to stop EBT payments and turn off the electricity. The riots will start and the cities will burn.

Alas Babylon

This will be interesting, as it is clearly against the Texas Constitution. I wonder why conservatives have not pushed to change their Constitution.

This is the reason I refer to TX as the Republican-party of the states — it relies on a reputation it no longer deserves, to put on airs of pretentiousness. (Obviously not applying to the various citizens of TX who actually do something, i.e. militia.)

What's even more disgraceful is that if you read the TX Constitution you see that the governor can order military action against the invasion — see Art 4, Sec 7.
