Don’t pet the new Secret Service dogs at the White House
PBS News Hour ^ | July 9, 2014 at 4:29 PM EDT | BY Josh Lederman, Associated Press

The Secret Service has started deploying specialized canine units to help protect the area around the White House grounds, where tourists flock day and night to catch a glimpse of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Although the Secret Service has used police dogs since 1976 to screen areas for presidential visits, this is the first time they’re being broadly deployed among the general public.(emphasis added)

Not in France. The wussies are too afraid of hurting anyone, and all working dogs like that must be muzzled period.

I’ll bet that if you asked and the Secret Service responded truthfully, you would learn that Barack Obama has a daily death threat total exceeding the weekly totals for other presidents.

Wowww.......

I’m searching for the word to use here but my brain isn’t up to the task yet. (It’s early)..

What word means ‘unaware (or callously indifferent to) of how bad your actions look’,

Or something better than that?

As in ‘I let walking diseases and God only what kind and how many terrorists and other criminals enter the non-existent border fence by the thousands to threaten the safety of Americans and the fabric of American society; but Ima get me some attack dogs for around mah house because a whole, solid, working fence that’s guarded by armed and dangerous agents just doesn’t seem like enough’... ??

Will they take the pooches to Martha’s Vineyard?

I may have found the word: ANOSOGNOSIA

SUMMARY: Anosognosia is a common symptom of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder with psychotic features.

Also called “lack of awareness” or “lack of insight,” it has an anatomical basis that has been confirmed in multiple scientific studies.

The word itself comes from the Greek word for disease (nosos) and knowledge (gnosis) and literally means “to not know a disease.”

It affects approximately 50 percent of individuals with schizophrenia and 40 percent of individuals with bipolar disorder and is the most common reason that individuals with schizophrenia and bipolar do not take their medications.

When taking medications, awareness of illness improves in some patients.

My dad was there. He was a combat engineer and they were at the "sharp end" - he actually knew the partisani who caught Mussolini. He said it was an ESSO station in the middle of Milan - they hung up his body, that of his mistress Clara Petacci, and 2-3 other people.

We have dad's photos of the partisani (waving from the back of an ox-cart, sitting around drinking wine) - he took a bunch of photos of Mussolini & Co. but we can't find the negatives. >-<

Thanks for the ping Joe!

Just have to say...people are used to seeing "working dogs" on occasion, including police and/or service dogs...and I think folks generally don't interfere with them or their owners/handlers.

So why the warning?! It's a little off-putting, to say the least...nothing "Secret" about THOSE "Secret Service" agents. So just SAY they're guard dogs, stay back.

Oh wait...if they're mingling amongst people but not to be touched or petted, then wouldn't that scare the sh*t out of anyone unfortunate enough to be randomly sniffed?

Or are they muzzled? (the dogs, not the peops, of course)

0bama has never yet figured out a better way to do anything, including canine security around the White House...I am SO looking forward to "moving out" day for him, 2017...
