My brother is buried in the Punch Bowl along with many thousands of USA military personnel who died fighting for the USA. I would not want to see a time when the Punch Bowl is not a dedication to those that died for the USA. That being said I suppose the Punch Bowl could be like the memorial cemeteries in Europe that exist to honor USA soldiers that died in Europe. I have no objection to letting Hawaii be a government apart from the USA. It is my understanding that Hawaii was only chosen for statehood was to offset Alaska’s political statehood.

In 1820, when Missouri was admitted as a slave state, Maine was broken off from Massachusetts and admitted as a free state, in order to keep the balance in the Senate.
