The problem is that there is a law he passed that prohibits the United States from sending illegal unaccompanied minors from Central America back to their home country.
Until Congress changes that law, the illegal alien kids will keep coming across the border and the ones that are already here will be governed by that current law.
"He" was G.W.Bush, not a real firm border control guy regardless how good he may have otherwise been. It does not prohibit return, it requires due process.
On the other hand, how should it apply?
100% of these "children" came to us through the courtesy of mexico, they're either mexico's problem or ours & mexico had to work, re-interpret immigration laws, and expedite transport to the USA, in order to scrape them off on us.
Seems that it's about time we learned how to return the favor. Starting by handing this particular problem, including gang bangers and hopeful relatives marking time just below our only southern border, back to our scumbag neighbors whether "they" like it or not.
