Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) responded today to a New York Times Op-Ed promoting amnesty by billionaires Sheldon Adelson, Warren Buffett and Bill Gates.
Sessions said the billionaires' opinion piece shows they're clueless about the obligations of Congress to the American people:
"It is clear that three of the richest billionaires in the world have no clue what Congress 'owe[s] to the 318 million who employ them'.
"We owe them our loyalty, our compassion, our devotion. It is precisely because of our duty to the working people of this country that we must stop legislation that would import tens of millions of lower-wage workers to replace them."
Sen. Sessions suggested that passing Pres. Obama's immigration reform package would not just harm Americans, it would also be fruitless:
"The President cannot be trusted to enforce any immigration law. We are in the midst of a border disaster-created by the President's lawlessness-and Mr. Adelson, Mr. Gates, and Mr. Buffet want to implement a massive amnesty bill. Such a plan would wreak havoc on our nation's laws and borders, which mean a great deal to the good and decent citizens of this country."
Most members of Congress have no clue either

Senator Sessions is trying to fight the good fight. I’ve voted for him every time he has ran for the senate.
Sessions for President. The problem is that his chances are slightly better than those of your local dogcatcher.

And let them set up a fund to compensate all the people who lose their job or can't find work because illegals are taking jobs away from Americans.

Hey rich billionaire type guys. Obama wants 4 billion dollars to “take care” of some small problems at the border. Why don’t you all pony up with some bucks. 4 billion ain’t all that much.

BRAVO, Senator Sessions! BRAVO! At least some Republicans get it.
Exactly. Obama started off by asking for $1.7 billion, then it went up to $4 billion, the latest I’ve heard is now close to $6 billion. Let the billionaires pay for it, they’re the ones planning to make money from all of this.
Thank you for voting for him. He’s one of my very favorite Senators - - I’ve adopted him and Sens Cruz & Lee as my Senators, especially since I have a couple of dingbats.
I’d love to see him as Senate Majority Leader.
