About 30 civilians have been killed in an artillery attack on Maryinka, a suburb of Donetsk, Igor Strelkov (Girkin), the defense minister of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), said at a press conference on Saturday. "We know about 30 dead people. But not all ruins have yet been cleared. So there might be more of them. Militia sites have not been affected by the shelling. There are no losses among our fighters," Strelkov said at a press conference on Saturday.
DPR Prime Minister Alexander Borodai, who also attended the press conference, said the evacuation of civilians from Maryinka and other suburbs of Donetsk had been started.
"We are evacuating primarily children. The refugees are headed to Russia. We are talking about several hundreds of those evacuated so far," Borodai said, Interfax reports.
A lot of locals are leaving the combat area on their own, using their personal vehicles or public transport, he added.
Speaking at a press conference in Donetsk on July 10, Borodai said that "about 100,000 residents could be evacuated from some districts of Donetsk in the near future."
Over 70,000 people have already left Donetsk since the start of the crisis in eastern Ukraine, he said.

The suburb shelled is to the far west of Donetsk, and they are likely trying to suppress the rebels near there to try and relieve the besieged airport, where it reported that the rebels took one of the two strongpoints, and 300 UK Soldiers defected to the rebels.
I heard it was reported that the separatists wear pink, and bugger each other at lunch.

I hope they update this article to reveal that it was not only civilians, but civilians hard at work in a baby milk factory.
Also, a mention of all the cuddly puppies and fluffy kittens that were slaughtered in this incident would be a good addition.
