You stand for passing on false stories and undermining conservatives.

Snopes calls it “undetermined”. Sounds like they were mad that they couldn’t label it “true”.

As left leaning as the Snopes couple is they probably are mad about it.

Given the tech timeline, I’m sure that there was no similar criticism of G.W.Bush as Twitter wasn’t but I’d love to see this reporters comments about the usual suspects of that time. Any “Unhinged Rants” from Hollywood types, Code Pink and all of their fellow travelers? Surely this fine journalist can find one ...

Was crystal meth the drug of choice in 1968? I don't remember that. I remember LSD......

Needless to say, “unglued” is a term no one in the media ever used to describe the hysterical attacks on GWB.

They’re either too dumb to understand, or they do’t care, as long as the Welfare goodies, EBTs, 0bummer Phones etc etc etc are plentiful.

You know, Erin seems really upset over Ted Nugent’s remarks. So sad, too bad.

From Snopes:

An analysis of Ted Nugent's Selective Service classification record doesn't prove or disprove either version of the story. He did indeed receive a high school student deferment (1-S) in 1967 and then (as he stated) a college student deferment (2-S) in 1968. However, he was reclassified as "available for military service" (1-A) in 1969 and then subsequently rejected as a result of a physical examination and given a 1-Y classification. (The 1-Y classification denoted persons "qualified for service only in time of war or national emergency" and was generally assigned to registrants who had exhibited medical conditions that were limiting but not disabling.) After the 1-Y classification was eliminated by the Selective Service at the end of 1971, Nugent was reclassified as 4-F ("registrant not qualified for any military service"). So, Ted Nugent did have a student deferment for part of the time he was eligible for the Vietnam-era draft, but he also did fail a physical examination and receive a medical exemption (which, as far as we know, he has neither acknowledged nor explained). But in the absence of more specific information about the results of that physical examination and the reasons for his medical exemption, it cannot be ascertained how truthful the account Nugent gave to High Times magazine back in 1977 might be. (Ted Nugent's press representative did not respond to a request for additional information about this subject.)

My analysis, having enlisted in 1969 and being totally familiar with the way things were then and now, is that ted Nugent is no coward, and that he got the same deferments that 90% of the kids I grew up with did.

Also the story about his drug use prior to the physical was made up by him in a later interview with High Times in 1977. He essentially restated almost verbatim the words of another rocker and has since said it was all BS.

I seem to remember reading about crystal meth being popular only with bikers during that year.

It was popular in Europe. Not so much in the US and it was medical grade stuff...simply called “crystal” or some called it “speed”

Also called the BYH folks - Bless Your Heart

Funny...just this past Friday saw a show on History Channel call You Don't Know Dixie. It covered the whole “bless his heart” term used to describe the least capable among us. Up here in the north east there are a few choice descriptions of the same types...but none as benign.

I call Rahm Emmanuel a ‘Jim Crow Liberals’. A Jim Crow liberal lives in posh areas, and in posh buildings and see, feel or touch very few black people in the course of their daily routine, it is all separate and greatly unequal. Yet they are extremely liberal Democrats and cannot wait to drive through the streets of South Boston, or Yonkers, in their limos, yelling “RACIST” at the middle class folks, because they didn’t want a massive low income housing dumped in their neighborhood. A particular Jim Crow liberal is Rahm Emmanuel, who, as mayor of Chicago, watches black kids get shot like pigeons, year-in and year-out and then does nothing to stop it. It reminds me of the Jim Crow south, where in 1940 there were 5 million black citizens in those southern states, and NOT ONE WAS A POLICE OFFICER! When a black killed a white all hell broke loose and the cops arrested everyone, but when a black killed a black the police many times didn’t even make an arrest! They didn’t care, just like Rahm Emmanuel or Cory Booker or Barack Obama – they don’t care if black people live in crime infested, apocalyptic neighborhoods and kill each other. I tell you this, Giuliani and Bloomberg cared and they put a stop to it, and maybe they didn’t get their votes, but at least they saved the lives of their children. That doesn’t happen with Jim Crow liberals, they just want the votes and the ghetto mayhem serves their political purposes.

The Dems want those slums to stay slums because it is a huge steady voting block for them. If they happen to be running low on poor, uneducated, unskilled, gang and lice infested people they will just import more from Guatemala and Honduras. Then use them as a political bludgeon when the other side says that this madness should stop. The Jim Crow liberals can scream racist again! The slums are consistent voting blocks, and the Dems will keep things the same, why change them and potentially lose votes. Why better the schools, why let them get out, why keep it safe since we get blame violence on the Second Amendment! Let’s keep them enslaved in perpetuity because it is the political gift that keeps giving.
