Hamas: A culture of hate means an obstacle for peace

Golda Meir, Israel’s fourth Prime Minister, once said, “We will only have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us.”

Every time I heard this, I considered it hyperbole, demonstrating not the possibility that mothers could hate their neighbors more than love their own children, but to illustrate the immense animosity they felt against the Jews.

But once again, the world is reminded that this is no hyperbole. It’s literal. The hate is deep and streams from generation to generation. They teach hate; they live hate; They pass it on to their progeny.

Every time I heard this, I considered it hyperbole...

Funny, I always considered it a keen insight and - perhaps - a prophecy.

They hate their other Muslims sects more than they love their children. In fact they kill their children if they marry into another sect or religion. Among many of them their is no love only bitterness and hate!

And the religion of peace just doesn’t seem to be helping them. When your religion teaches hate and revenge the followers will forever be at war with someone.

The true religion of peace tells us to love our enemies (darn hard I might add) and to be forgiving. Without those directives people will cling to the need for revenge going back centuries.
