Veteran Michael Sulsona had been waiting on a new wheelchair from the VA for years. After receiving no help, his broke down inside a Lowe’s.
That’s when three strangers stepped in to help.

You wouldn’t believe all of the disability scams going on. Even druggies on it, overweight, you name it. I am all about compassion but these under the radar cheats are sapping the strength out of our country. All you have to do is follow one (a probably cheat) for two days and just see how able bodied they are.
Guy I work with is a Russian born Jew and a PhD EE, and a very capable and decent person. He recently traveled back to Russia to visit his grandmother, who is in a nursing home. I felt uncomfortable discussing the trip with him, fearing the worst, but he was effusive. He said she is receiving wonderful treatment. Seems she is a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, and the Russians take pains to care for their veterans. (She was a doctor in the Red Army.)
Sometimes, times like these, I am ashamed to be an American, until I see those wonderful young men at Loews. I hope they don’t get fired. Besides wasting company time and resources, Loews might be liable for any injures he sustains if the wheel chair fails, and besides the suits don’t want to attract more freeloaders.
The dead children that strew the path to the United States, injured vets, and vets waiting for care - are part of 'democrat's revenge message'. If we don't do what democrats want they will punish us by hurting the innocent...

If Lowes cooperate headquarters is smart, they'll thank the employees for helping a customer in need. That's real service and the kind of initiative employers should love to see in their workforce.
I remember when the liberals were furious because there was some story that soldiers were buying their own underwear while deployed in Iraq.
But of course that was when bush was CIC. Now that it’s Obama, “Dude, the guy lost his legs like 40 years ago.”
I am recovering from a spinal cord injury but, am able to walk now. I have a wheelchair that is in excellent condition and would be completely honored for this Patriot to have it.
The positive PR Lowe’s is going to get from this random act of kindness is priceless.
FWIW...visiting nurses in my local do not accept walkers and wheel chairs any longer b/c, I was told, they do not have storage space for the donated items.
Lately, I’ve been going to *estate* tag sales and I can’t tell you, without sounding like I’m exaggerating, that these homes, that old folks have been in for decades are leaving behind dozens and dozens of wheelchairs/walkers/potty chairs by the truckload!
There ought to be a better way of recycling them for folks like Mr. Sulsona and others in need.
Actually, that wouldn't be such a bad idea if they used a voucher/subsidy system. Basically take the money put into the VA (likely even less, without the overhead costs) and let the vets use their voucher to get market-based insurance based on their individual needs.

Yep. They give so much in return for so little pay. I wouldn’t want to serve with any of the new feminized units though. I’m guessing fabulous pink uniforms made by Versaci will be the new norm within the next 5 years.
We live by a false creed, that government can show mercy and compassion. Compassion is a personal act. It is never corporate. Compassion is the expression of one heart to another. It cannot be legislated. The attempt to do so yields its very opposite. Putting human need in the hands of bureaucrats produces futility and tyranny. Government is constitutionally incapable of responding to individual human need.
Our local soroptomist club runs a thrift store which has the back room dedicated to supplying people in need of wheel chairs crutches etc. for free. Same with County nurse office. Open to donations.
