Here's a cease fire. Ghaza is now Egyptian territory. Israel recognizes Egyptian sovereignty over the strip, and expects Egypt to eliminate Hamas and introduce sanity and a normal life to the region, including resort hotels, beaches, and no more missiles. Egypt will be held accountable for any further assaults or attempted assaults on Israel originating from Ghaza. Resolution 242 has been fulfilled. Good luck. Have fun.

At the time that Israel returned control of the Sinai to Egypt, it should have insisted that Egypt also absorb Gaza into Egypt. Of course, Egypt did not, and does not, want a bunch of Palestinian trouble makers, but I suspect they would have accepted Gaza in order to get Sinai back.

Now, Egypt has its own internal challenges with the Muslim Brotherhood to resolve. Just the same, I doubt that Egypt would put with with Hamas or Hesbollah for a NY minute.

>""It won’t be long before Hamas will grow stronger, smuggle more elaborate rockets and open fire again,” he warned. "

Where did he ever get that idea? Maybe because it's EXACTLY what they have done for 1400 years?

Where's Joshua? These vermin of humanity need eradicating.

Works for me. Israel could just line up D-9s and push it
all into Egypt as far as I’m concerned.
I hope they don’t buy into the “peace” Malarky
until they have decimated, truly decimated Hamas
especially it’s leadership.
Don’t stop when what you are doing is working.

LOL ... Egypt doesn’t want Gaza anymore than Israel wants it.

Israel wants ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO with administering the Palestinians in Gaza and controlling the civil government. And Egypt wants absolutely nothing to do with it for basically the same reasons as Israel ... :-) ...

Here’s a better one.

Israel eliminates Hamas, keeps Gaza and builds their own resort hotels, beaches and tourist areas.

The “Palestinians” ARE Hamas as they elected them. They have committed serious acts of war against Israel, and they deserve to pay the price of defeat...and forfeiture of that bit of real estate.

The surviving Gazian refugees would need to seek asylum wherever they can find it...maybe in the concentration camps of Jordan.

Hamas is the majority party in the Palestinian National Authority. Much of the world recognizes them as a legitimate government, or at least pretends to.

Israel needs to forget about cease-fires.

Every reasonable person in the world who’s been paying attention to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict understands that, at the very least, Hamas would not be a trustworthy negotiating partner. What kind of ‘’cease fire’’ can anyone expect when dealing with bloodthirsty maniacs whose principal mission in life is to destroy you?

So, at this point, for the Israeli Prime Minister to even think of sitting down at a negotiating table with a murderous Hamas terrorist would be a sell-out of Israel.

It’s been a very stressful week for Bibi Netanyahu, and maybe he’s so battle-fatigued and overwhelmed he just wants to sit down, period, anywhere.

But a negotiating table across from a Hamas maniac is not the place to do it. Netanyahu needs to take a rest at a hospital, and this should be strongly encouraged by his colleagues, so that someone else who’s operating on all cylinders at this crucial time can take over and save the day.

fta... ...Asked how he believes Israel should act now, he responded that the operation must continue, “including ground entry. We need to finish the job. Doing half a job is worse than doing nothing.”

Exactly the way most Americans and our military felt about Desert Storm. “Stormin’ Norman” wanted to press on and take out Saddam and all of his military and WMDs.

His commander, COLON Powell, disagreed and convinced Bush 41, the wimp, to pull out; thus permitting Saddam to rebuild. ...Then, after Saddam was taken down under Bush 43 and Iraq was much more stable, Obama pulled out the US military and permitted today’s situation in the whole region to come into being.

Israel accepts Egyptian cease-fire proposal
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3180362/posts

Israel’s security cabinet met Tuesday morning to discuss the Egyptian cease-fire proposal, as Operation Protective Edge enters its second week. According to the Egyptian proposal, a cease-fire would begin Tuesday at 9 A.M. local time.

A senior Israeli official said that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accepts the offer and will bring it to a vote. Economy Minister Naftali Bennett will reportedly vote against a cease-fire.

Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri already rejected the proposal late Monday night on the grounds that “we are still under occupation and resistance is the right of our people.”
