That's not what happened when we had to impeach Clinton. The exact opposite occurred. As the process went on more people opposed it and his job approval ratings went up. Just leading into the process probably cost us 5 seats in the House in the 98's elections.
There is also a big difference between impeachment being justified and actually doing it. I think it's justified, but I think it would be a politically disastrous thing to do. It's not going to happen anyway, but if it were you'd have to start with much better numbers than this.
Must everything be a political calculation?
The man is committing impeachable offenses on a virtually daily basis.
Lay his transgressions out for all to see. Impeach him. Force the Senate to show America what a partisan, worthless bunch of fools they really are.
If the house had done it right Clinton’s numbers wouldn’t have gone up because the media wouldn’t have had time to push the “It’s just about sex” crap. The house was supposed to deliver the articles to the senate “by noon the following day”. It ended up taking about two months before the fake trial started. By then the sheeple had been led into the “not guilty” category.
I faxed Delay about this and never heard from him. And I lived in his district at the time.
