News 12 reporter Sean Bergin has been suspended after he argued on the air that the “anti-cop mentality that has so contaminated America’s inner cities” is largely the result of “young black men growing up without fathers.”

“At that same conference, backspace U. S. Rep. Chaka Fattah (D-PA) alleged that, “poor children receive less dollars which continues the cycle of poverty.”

The dead cop in question was a rookie on the job for six months. Here in NJ, our urban cops aren’t aggressive (they aren’t allowed to be); rather than blacks complaining about their attitudes and behavior, it is often the whites and “replacement Americans” complaining about the ineffectiveness of our cops.

You make an interesting point. FR seems to indicate a rising tide of anti-cop sentiment even among those traditionally most likely to support LEOs.

Which makes me wonder if the tales of police brutality towards minorities many of us discounted were to a considerable extent true all along. Are the cops just starting to treat the rest of us the way they have always treated black people?

I don’t know the answer, but I think it’s a pretty important question.

Is it bigoted if we omit race, and say that there are bad impacts for any children growing up without a father?

Yes. It's bigoted because it implies that a 'father' is 'necessary' to rear children properly, which is anathema to the NOW gang.................

That’s what I thought. I figured it was bigoted against females to suggest that a father is important in children’s lives.

But this is nothing new. Remember the reaction to Dan Quayle, in 1992, when he criticized a TV show which featured a single woman having a baby alone??? Oh my God, the over-reaction and meltdown among liberals at that time was unbelievable.

They're trying to get rid of words such as "mother" and "father" entirely and all references to specific genders.

So it won't even be possible to say anything meaningful even if you wanted.

"Children growing up with just a single spouse who fails to fully represent the entire gender spectrum will be at a slight disadvantage which might result in angry outbursts directed at symbols of authority."

The fact is that 25% of a certain Demographic, equal to 3% of the entire Population, is responsible for more than 50% of the Violent Crime committed in this Country.

AG Eric Holder can fill in the blanks.

LOL! “these “fathers” were irresponsible thugs”. As opposed to all the “responsible” thugs I guess. Good example would be the dying words of sixpac shakur after he was shot in Vegas. The first cop on the scene (Vegas strip bike cop) asked sixpac who did it. Sixpac’s final two word to the cop. FU. Yeah, and he’s celebrated like some sort of hero. Nope. Dead zero.

"Political correctness" is dangerous. We've reached a point where people are afraid to actually talk about what they want to say, because somebody might be 'offended'."

And glaring problems will not get solved until we can be candid and honest with each other.

Yes, an important question.

However, as I’ve seen it, most of the growing “anti cop” sentiment is centered on capabilities; that police forces are moving away from “policing” and instead moving toward paramilitary capabilities that can be used for suppression of the public.

Actually, from the particular issue at point, there have been, or at least used to be, a lot of “responsible thugs.”

The Italian and Jewish gangsters who dominated organized crime in this country for most of the last century were renowned for their devotion to their families. They didn’t abandon their sons and daughters to grow up by themselves. Their peers would have ostracized them, or possibly killed them, if they had.

Whether growing up with a “responsible thug” for an active father is a good thing or not for the child is a good question.

The overreaction and meltdown was a political tactic, is a political tactic, that the Dems pull out to distract from the real issues.

‘My “local” news orginates in Cleveland. The local news could be retitled: Homies behaving badly.’

Local news from Louyville is the same stuff. I got rid of cable and my tv. Pointless to watch and all it does is piss me off.

It is not at all about race. It is about the family. I’ve heard Wayne Perryman talk at length about the dysfunctional black family and the seduction of the drug industry that takes the place of the father and kills young kids.

I doubt the issue is one of capabilities, as such. The military has always had this capability and more, and it is by far the most trusted institution in the country. Which, BTW, the Founders would have thought extremely bizarre.

The problem is that those capabilities, when present, have a tendency to be used, whether they are needed or not. Takes a strong manager and leader to keep his guys from using their new toys unnecessarily.

paramilitary capabilities that can be used for suppression of the public.

This is what many blacks and other minorities have always claimed the police do in their neighborhoods. To what extent were they right?

Not to mention the attraction to gangs as pseudo families due to a desire to part of “family” knowing that somebody has your back. Good or bad.
