Senate panel doubles money for Iron Dome [Israel]

WASHINGTON — The US Congress showed tangible support for longtime ally Israel as Gazan terrorists fired rockets Tuesday, backing a measure that would double the amount of money for Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system.

The Senate Appropriations defense subcommittee approved a defense spending bill on Tuesday that would provide $621.6 million for Israeli missile defense, including $351 million for the Iron Dome system that intercepts short-range rockets and mortars. In the latest hostilities between Israel and Hamas, Iron Dome has been successful in shooting down rockets and preventing Israeli deaths.

“It works,” said Sen. Dick Durbin, a Democrat and chairman of the subcommittee.

Since 1988 and the early days of US-Israeli cooperation on missile defense, presidents have proposed a specific amount for the program knowing full well that members of Congress will increase the funds, especially after they hear from Israel.

We give them money because it was a shared technology and Israel was the guinea pig.

I am glad we are helping Israel in every way, but I am pissed that we cannot support a law that is on the books to build a fence along our southern border to keep the hordes of invading scum.

Thanks Kay Bailey Hutchinson for shutting down the fence when it was scheduled to be built.

““It works,” said Sen. Dick Durbin”

Those of us 50 years old and older remember SPECIFICALLY being told by the Democrats that the idea of shooting down missiles could NEVER work.

We wouldn’t want to think we were being lied to...or that the Democrats were really acting as Soviet agents back then, now would we?

0 wants the souther border porous to allow Muzzie invaders to flow across until they can reach Caliphate proportions. They look similar enough to Mexicans that no one questions them.

This is not me saying this. This has been said to me by two terrorism experts and comes the horse’s mouth.

Meanwhile the US Military and the National Guard are doing battle over who gets to use the old helicopters and who has to use the very old helicopters.

And the US Military has announced substantial layoffs of civilian employees.

OK ...

Congress wants to borrow almost a BILLION dollars, and give it to another country.

Splendid.

Not.

You are correct. Before the FERAL Government quit given amnesty to Brazilians we would find the ragheads embedded with them all the time when we busted a group down south.

Now when we bust a large group of illegals down south you can bet there will be some rags in the group. You can pick them out by their eyes and noses.

Now the ones from Africa are easy.....need I explain...bwhahahahahahaha

They didn’t wear enough concealer around their eyes on those days eh? The lips are slightly different too.

I thought all the very old helicopters were yanked from the National Guard because the administration thought they were a potential threat or some other crazy crap like that.

The Guard has the Apaches and the military wants them and wants the guard to use the older Blackhawks.

Its a sequester problem, but apparently, as this stage, the Senate is siding with the Guard.

There is an AP article from this morning that gives more details.

Curious ... not one comment at the Times of Israel. (At least to this posting)

Would seem someone would want to say "thanks". No?
