US wealth based on theft? Progressives and their dangerous view of America
Fox News ^ | July 16,2014 | Dinesh D'Souza

What about today? Isn’t American foreign policy based on theft? Actually, no.

America has made its share of mistakes, in Vietnam, and more recently in Iraq. But in neither country did America intervene to steal from those people.

In fact, the Iraq war has cost us dearly. And we have turned the oil fields back to the Iraqis.

Earlier, America used its own treasure to rebuild Europe and Japan after World War II. These are the not the actions of a global thief.

To see if capitalism is a form of theft, consider the example of Steve Jobs. Who is he stealing from? He created a product, the iPhone, that most of us didn’t even know we wanted or needed. But when he made it, we lined up to buy it and freely parted with our money to get it. If Steve Jobs’ affluence increases inequality, we -- his consumers -- are responsible for that inequality.

In sum, the progressive theft critique is deeply flawed. In fact, it is a deliberately selective view of America that is aimed at shaming the American people, especially our young people.

In this way, the charge of theft makes Americans falsely believe that their wealth is stolen, not earned. Then our wealth can be confiscated by the biggest thief of all, the federal government.

“Property/wealth is theft”
...

This is so obviously a deliberately antithetical concept to biblical truth about property, wealth, and how it is to be gained and inherited.

Yes, more and more it becomes obvious that leftist ideology is simply of the spirit of antichrist.

Finally, capitalism is theft because it confers unjust profits on the few while depriving the majority of Americans of what Obama calls their “fair share.”

So we should fix God's unjust distribution of talent and initiative?

Is there a figure ANYWHERE which totals the money, aid, assistance, support, etc. the US has GIVEN (given, meaning no expectation of repayment) to the needy, diseased, weak, vulnerable, oppressed, exploited all over the world?

Well, didn’t the courts recently rule that some of Apple’s technology was stolen from Samsung? And vice versa?

I think we should have taken a percentage of Iraqi oil until our costs were replaced.

Here is my take on the Progressive (Democrat) movement and their positions regarding the 7 deadly sins:

Lust – Sex out of wedlock (e.g. Sandra Fluke) and the Homosexual movement (sex without purpose)

Gullonty – EBT cards and welfare benefits allowing the purchase of “junk food”. How many obese “poor” people do we have.

Greed – Income redistribution

Sloth – The Welfare State , including piling on to SSI

Wrath – The visceral hatred shown to Judea Christians and Conervative Americans ( you are “Racists” and “Haters”). And of course, their actual wrath against the innocent unborn, manifested in mass-murder.

Envy – The evil “1%” and those who excelled in the Free Enterprise system (you didn’t earn that!)

Pride – The smug assurity that they, the Liberals (Democrats), know better than you about what you should eat, drive, wear, what kind of light bulb you should use… Oh, and don’t forget their rejection of God as Supreme Being because no one is more important than them!

As you can see, The Progressive Movement (Democrat Party) has adopted the 7 Deadly Sins as Party Planks.

Why are people still calling progressives progressives? I believe they should be called by their right name, socialists or maybe even communists. That would open some eyes - maybe.

The time for attempting to reason with these people is nearly over.

It is their religion. There is no reasoning with them.

A liberal relative public high school teacher boasted about teaching Howard Zinn in class (i.e., the notorious Marxist America-hating “historian”). Face it, the low information voters, i.e., the growing majority of the American public, are being out and out brainwashed.

The theme that capitalist, western countries "stole" the wealth of poor, third world countries always makes me laugh. The facts are just about all those "oppressed" third world countries are now independent. Many of them are now worse off after becoming independent. Why aren't they able to replicate the economic success of those terrible western countries?

The truth is western countries not only extracted resources from those third world countries they couldn't have extracted by themselves, they brought western civilization to those places. Some of those countries were able to adapt western civilization practices immediately improving their lot. And some are quite unable to adapt to modern civilization. That is not the fault of the western countries.

It would be interesting to find out exactly how many high school history classes include or stress Zinn’s book.
