One comment says that the woman of the house is probably collecting welfare as a single mom, and that her “ex” leaves the house once a month when the welfare folks come around to check. Sheer speculation, but it seems likely enough.
Whoever said that is showing their age. The welfare folks don't come around to check anymore.
