Israeli official says Netanyahu's security cabinet is still examining details of an Egyptian proposal for a cease-fire; no immediate comment from Hamas, Palestinian groups on whether they had accepted permanent truce. Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman on Thursday denied earlier reports that Israel and Hamas had reached an agreement on a cease-fire that would put an end to the fighting as of Friday morning.

Liberman's denial came minutes after Reuters quoted an Israeli official as saying that Israeli senior representatives at talks in Cairo had accepted an Egyptian proposal for a comprehensive Gaza cease-fire starting on Friday, but Israel's leaders still had to approve the deal.

The official, who earlier said that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision-making security cabinet had agreed to the truce, later told Reuters the forum had not yet voted and was still examining its details.

Egyptians Hoping Israel Will Destroy Hamas
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3181177/posts

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi has thus far turned down appeals from Palestinians and other Arabs to work toward achieving a new ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

Palestinian Authority [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas telephoned Sisi and urged him to intervene to achieve an “immediate ceasefire” between Israel and Hamas. Abbas later admitted that his appeal to Sisi and (other Arab leaders) had fallen on deaf ears.

Sisi’s decision not to intervene in the current crisis did not come as a surprise. In fact, Sisi and many Egyptians seem to be delighted that Hamas is being badly hurt.

Some Egyptians are even openly expressing hope that Israel will completely destroy Hamas, which they regard as the “armed branch of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization.”

Sisi’s Egypt has not forgiven Hamas for its alliance with Muslim Brotherhood and its involvement in terrorist attacks against Egyptian civilians and soldiers over the past year.

The Egyptians today understand that Hamas and other radical Islamist groups pose a serious threat to their national security. That is why the Egyptian authorities have, over the past year, been taking tough security measures not only against Hamas, but also the entire population of the Gaza Strip.

There was and continues to be a strong consensus in Israel, including in the military, against a cease fire with the Hamas terrorists. Many in the government and outside of it are vocally calling for Israel to fix the problem and crush Hamas now.

If it weren’t for the heroes of the right including Lieberman, Danon amd Bennet, Netanyahu would have caved long ago. Unfortunately, Danon lost his position over his integrity, but remains a member of the Knesset and the head of Netanyahu’s own Likud party.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu knows how to work inside Israel, with Egypt, with the world at large, and go through the necessary moves in order to degrade and destroy the capabilities of Hamas, while also garnering world support on Israel’s behalf.

I’ve never seen world support so strong as it is in this current situation, and that’s because Israel has a great leader, such as Netanyahu.

The rest of those “yahoos” and cowboys can’t hold a candle next to Netanyahu’s great job that he’s doing.

Why do some in the region continue to want Israel and the US to do their dirty work? If they want Hamas dead they should just do it themselves. I’m very tired of good people dying for the wishes of bad people.
